Chad Qualls going back to Houston was a surprise to me. That guy is such a loof.

I feel so bad for Gardner. I don't want him to go to another team, yet there are so many holes to fill in the lineup! It would be smart to trade him for Brandon Phillips (which has been rumored) but I'm not sure if he'd top his stats from last year. The Yanks have got to be smart with Gardner. Too many times New York has gone and got a new player without looking into the meat.

At this point, the yanks have got to get a pitcher. Preferably a lefty.

What do you consider a "very good" pitcher? I think a low 3 or 4 would be the best you could hope for.

Of course straight up for a SP that's what the going rate for him would be. I would try to package some players and get a #2 or possibly a #1.

Gardner is the odd man out. Wells getting DFA, it's a possibility, but they could also package him in a deal (since the Angels are paying his 2014 salary).
