Interesting. I voted and am glad to see how this finally plays out. The idea of MoS as worst of the year highly amuses me, but given the outspoken posters on here, it's totally feasible. If that's how the community voted, then it is what it is.

The runner up list doesn't surprise me, although I know some people are going to freak about Spring Breakers being misunderstood brilliance.

I personally really liked Bullet To The Head, but know I'm way in the minority and most understandably hated it.

Thanks for putting in the work OP. I think a slow reveal is deserved.

I normally don't complain much about these lists, but Upstream Color is lumped in with Inappropriate Comedy and After Earth.

Unreal...

I didn't connect with upstream colour but I will admit that's pretty crazy.
Inappropriate comedy was so awful and racist and juvenile and unfunny it deserves its place.
Probably the most technically and artistically awful film to make this list even if I doubt people thought they were going to get a good movie with it.

It takes a lot for me to actually be offended by a film, but that Inappropriate Comedy crap was flat out offensive and terrible.

I really enjoy Upstream Color, it is in my top 25 of the year (the back end of the list), but regardless I don't understand how anyone can watch that and vote it in the same realm as some of these other films. I know people who watched it and didn't like it, but my god they would never claim it was among the worst of the year.

I know one thing, I can't wait to see how comically over-ranked Star Trek into Darkness is.

This. I actually attempted to rank the films by what is the worst, not just the things that make people the most angry for whatever reason.

For example, I really didn't enjoy Spring Breakers, but I wouldn't put it near my worst list. Too much good in it to lump it in with the tripe of the year.

I didn't think that this movie was terrible, just that Franco and Kunis were big miscasts.

Kick-Ass 2 and Gangster Squad definitely deserve it. Gatsby's first hour is dreadful.

Yeah, the first hour contained everything I hate about Baz Luhrmann movies. I started digging it the second all the party scenes stopped.

The only one of those movies I really, really enjoyed was 'Gangster Squad'. It was pulpy fun, nothing more, nothing less. 'Kick-Ass 2' was messy, and not nearly as good as the first, but I still liked parts of it.

InAPPropriate Comedy is next to Upstream Color, that's just not right. Honestly, I haven't watched InAPPropriate Comedy but probably think that should have belongs in top 3 of this list.

This list feels like it was mainly made from people who only watched 20 new films(or less) all year long, and just making list from that.

As we go down the list, I feel like we are going to get lot more popular movies that are not necessarily bad, but just mediocre or had huge fan base that just didn't like the direction their movie have gone to.

But great job from OP to include the tomatometer. That really helps me to identify a really bad movie to avoid from a good movie that just have a polarizing content. Or just mediocre movies that might have good cast and/or good marketing.

Well its based on points.
If more people had seen inAPPropriate COmedy it would have been higher.
Wisely, they stayed away from that crap though.

well that was my point. This list is supposed to be WORST, but this list is way too inaccurate because people tend to avoid films that looks bad and have bad ratings. So the ones that are listed here is just the ones that people watched the most and not necessarily bad. (thats why huge kudos to OP to include the tomatometer)

The "BEST of list" also have faults with listing most watched and not necessarily the best. But at least if the film get enough good ratings and buzz, more people will see it and be little more accurate.
Opposite is true for this list though, worst the movie is, less people will go see it and not get enough points to be even on the list. So this list will just have the most popular movies with polarizing content, and not be the worst. way less accurate and doesn't really fit the title of this thread.
