Am I the only one here who thinks Grace Jones looked kinda butch in this movie? Despite that, I thought her character is extremely enticing!

Exclamation A View To a SPOILER

I watched A View To A Kill on Vudu in HDX format today (HDX is 1080p with up to 7.1 surround). Very impressive!

My favorite part is when Grace Jones
[Show spoiler]rides into the mine with the bomb and she explodes!
.

I also love it when the blimp
[Show spoiler]explodes
!

But seeing Roger Moore with Tanya Roberts is disturbing. The huge age difference makes it look like Bond is a
[Show spoiler]pedophile
.

[Show spoiler]Duran Duran's theme song
is the best part of the entire movie.

Working on look-alike covers for the "lost 9". Here's a WIP:

More info in the "Custom Cover art" thread as they progress.

Yes, the artworks on the new releases are so horrid I refuse to buy them. Do we have any hope for upcoming steelbooks I wonder...?

Just a bit of info:

When you put these discs into a PS3, the icon is actually "2009 themed" cover art that would have been used had they been released along with the previous films.

Perhaps you can use those for ideas for your custom covers?

Just a tidbit.

The Duran Duran song, John Barry's score, the hot tub chick villianess, a hammy Christopher Walken, and the tiny robot at the end that could be the robot from Rocky IV's little bro are the saving graces of this film (sorry Grace Jones).
That and the fight to the death on top of the Golden Gate Bridge are the only things I like from this film. Too many bads with this:

Roger Moore being FIFTY EIGHT years old when he did the film. He looks terrible in this and should've called it quits after FYEO.

The plot was weak.

Obvious stuntmen.

Some of the sets look cheap.

Stacy Sutton was a terrible Bond girl (The 80s Christmas Jones so to speak)

Grace Jones is not good looking.

I love A View to a Kill...Christopher Walken is epic and Tanya Roberts is amazing looking...I have a soft spot for Roger Moore Bonds...

Given that 1985 is one of the, if not the, greatest year in movie history, makes this film even better...

What's up with Target? I already have bought the 3 Best Buy's and 3 Walmart exclusives. Target has only one title listed online but not currently available. Also I paid only $9.98 on those other 6 titles but Target is asking $14.99 for AVTAK

I just picked up A View To A Kill yesterday at Target. It was $9.99. Had to bring the DPCI number as all their exclusives were in the stock room.
(Had the same experience getting The Living Daylights at a different Target.)

Here are the DPCI numbers as provided by forum member AmazingRando:
Tomorrow Never Dies - 058370712
A View To A Kill - 058370713
The Living Daylights - 058370715

It's almost guaranteed that your Target will have these held in the back. I have no idea why they're not putting them on shelves. Just call ahead with those DPCI numbers and you should be good to go. (Provided there is a Target near you.)

I'm surprised nobody - including the original reviewer - has addressed any of the screw ups that Lowry made during the "restoration" of this movie for the original UE DVD carried over to this BD. Most noticeably the "camera shake" which occurs on the shot of Stacy's house. Apparently Lowry's machines decided it was an error and "fixed" it. It wasn't an error. There were also framing errors made during Bond's "sprint" up the Eiffel Tower.

Had the movie been released in the first wave of BDs it would probably have been corrected - as was OHMSS and TB - but they got lazy with the second batch.

The set as a whole was such a missed oppprtunity.

To my knowledge, AVTAK has't been presented correctly since the SE DVD. Add it to the list of Bonds that need another try. See also Goldeneye and its wretched DMR!

Those screwups are only minor compared to the fact that the whole movie has been zoomed from its original AR.

What was corrected with OHMSS and TB? I had issues with the HD audio when it comes to OHMSS. (The Gumbolt safe sequence with the lowered music, the puny sounding gunshots.)

Bond with someone as young as Tanya is supposed to be is just creepy, it just seems wrong

Duran Duran rock. My first record bought was Union of the Snake and Xmas 1984 I received all four albums they had released at that stage from 'Santa' LOL. Too young to see them when they toured in 1983 but when they finally decided to come back to Australia 20 YEARS later in 2003 and again in 2008 & 2011, they were brilliant AVTAK is an awesome song.
