U missed my point...I was just talking about the two scenes in the last episode. If u put the Tywin scene before the coronation scene it gives more reason behind Cersei trying to play nice with Margery. With the war pretty much over and not knowing about the Lannister financial troubles, Cerseo only motivation for marrying Tommen to Margery is Mace Tyrell's vote at Tyrion's trial.

Certainly, and the vote is enough at least in Cersei's twisted mind. But then in the very next scene Tywin tells Cersei how much they need the marriage and the Tyrells because the mines have dried up. This also provides motivation for the 180, with teeth gritted, in Cersei behavior. Why not use it as well. All it does is play to Cerseis one mindedness on killing Tyrion and makes her new attitude much less convincing.

so I'm almost done w/A Storm of Swords......correct me if I'm wrong.
where they are w/Daenerys' story in the show vs. the book.....she had kicked Jorah to the curb by now hadn't she?? and shouldn't the wildlings have attacked from the south side of the wall by now or I that coming up?? I'm assuming Episode 9 will contain the majority of the battle when Mance attacks the wall. |

I mean, the whole Jorah thing is essential later on....so she has to get rid of him at some point right?? ![]() |

Also, the Wildlings south of the Wall should have also attacked. I am guessing they will attack right before or at the same time as Mance. Overall, I am liking the pacing. Seeing some AFFC and ADWD stuff is interesting. Plus, there are a number of non-book events going on (Craster's Keep and Yara/Asha going after Theon this early). Part of me always prefers adaptations to stick to the books, but I am enjoying these changes so far. Plus, there was the future book spoiler a few episodes back ![]() |

Incorporating elements from AFFC and ADWD (which many find slow) into the more high octane narrative of the latter half of ASOS is really smart.
Makes me very interested to see how next season will unfold. On the subject of Jorah, I got the feeling that's what Tywin's letter was about tonight. I think he's sending a message to Dany (or at least someone in her company) informing her of Jorah's spying. Last edited by Aragorn the Elfstone; 05-12-2014 at 05:20 AM. |
