I have been watching season 2 on El Rey. It is being shown in widescreen 1080i, and it looks really good. It does not appear stretched to fill the screen at all. It does not appear to be an upscale either - it looks like they are using a legit HD source for their broadcasts.

This makes me wonder if there will be an official Blu-Ray release soon. It has also been confirmed The X-Files Blu-Ray release will be entirely in widescreen. And remember, both Dark Angel and The X-Files were both Fox shows. So, since they are doing one, maybe they will do the other.

I actually finally got to see some episodes, they were the first two episodes of the first season. It looked pretty good, it probably would have looked better on a Sony 60+" rather than a Sharp Aquos 60".

I want to watch the widescreen versions of this so bad I'm thinking about importing them and ripping them onto my computer, then try to make NTSC DVDs. lol Or just rip them in a format that will play through my USB flash drive on the Blu-ray player.

So you can't just have a DVD player and TV that can handle 576i? I'd do that just for the extra resolution

I don't want to have to import the sets then buy a new player. If I had the money to do so, I would. It'd be nice if they would put the show on Netflix, Amazon, Vudu or iTunes. The only streaming site I've found the show on is Hulu, Hulu Japan... lol And I was told only the second season is widescreen.

Yeah, the fact that it is still available on streaming services (bar Hulu Japan) is just... dumb. I'm so glad I got the R2 dvds.

This would be great to have on blu-ray. I know I've seen every episode of season 1. I don't think I've seen everything in season 2. If I recall correctly the show started off well in the ratings then for some reason Fox buried it on Friday night.

I'd buy a blu-ray release. Alba was really good in this role.

Jessica Alba has been hanging out with Cameron and crew a lot lately, there's been a lot of comments on her Facebook page asking for a Dark Angel movie, a comeback series on Netflix. I hope it leads to something.

The show had such great world-building that I wouldn't mind a spin-off without Jessica, tbh.

I'm not sure if that was James Cameron's way of sticking it to Fox, or his last shot of getting the network to renew. Either way, I love the show and wish its story could have continued in one way or another. I concur that I would like to see Dark Angel on Blu-ray, I've been wanting to see it in widescreen since I found out it existed.
