I am trying to download it but it is going to take like 24 hours to download

I see that you can save a much shorter part in less than 1 hour

The World Cup Video is Fantastic

I have also converted it to 1080 and it looks almost as good

If you watch the 1080 from a normal distance it is stunning

Good choice, Arsenal's style of play fits Alexis Sanchez.

Two upcoming 4K DCPs from Screen Gems

The Wedding Ringer 16 January 2015 (USA)

No Good Deed 12 September 2014 (USA)

The team also used Sony OLED monitors on set, and recorded to Sony's AXS-R5 recorder. The post production and digital intermediate process was completed at Sony's ColorWorks facility in Culver City, Calif.

Screen Gems' Gainor is no stranger to the Sony 4K workflow. The Sony F55 and F65 cameras have become workhorses for recent Screen Gems' productions.

"Currently, the two cameras that can do what we need are the Sony F65 and F55," Gainor said. "It's undeniable that digital handles the absence of light better than film. Digital can pick up details in the darkest of dark images because its noise threshold is so much lower than film."

He added, "There is storytelling going on in the exposure aspects of movies. It's the sensitivity to light that is the main game changer. It's getting into a nightclub and using existing lights. It's getting onto streets without redefining the lighting that already exists."

According to Gainor, the real test of the new 4K technologies' place in production is whether or not they serve the story.

"The important question is this: Is the story told better captured in analog or digital?" he said. "I've helped filmmakers shoot on location all over the world with 4K cameras. We've gotten into places that were off limits to film cameras and shot with the least amount of light available, embracing low light sensitivity, rather than pouring in more light with traditional HMI's that would require generators and cables, and so on.

He added, "4K digital cameras have allowed us to capture scenes in a living room with daylight coming through the window in the background while we're trying to capture the actors at a table. We can lighten images, darken them, zoom in on them, focus attention to certain parts of the frame, by use of power windows in post, and so on."

"Deliver Us from Evil" is the studio's 4th 4K production, joining other recent titles including "Think Like a Man, Too" and "About Last Night," and upcoming pics "No Good Deed" and "The Wedding Ringer."

Thank goodness.
For some balance, a little inside info for our ‘American football’ fans. A personal acquaintance of Stan K. (Arsenal, St. Louis Rams ownership, some background - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stan_Kroenke ) informs me that eventually Stan intends to bring the Rams back to L.A. because St. Louis isn’t/can’t come up with nearly enough $$ desired for their stadium upgrade…as Stan sees/wants it. That’s the plan.

As for Iain Dowie, he's one of the ugliest footballers to have ever lived. But he managed my beloved Palace and got us promoted in 2004 (ever heard of "bouncebackability", Penton?) before he buggered off to manage Charlton. *spit*

Horrible game of football tonight though. I pray that ze Germans will destroy Argentina in the final, because if they don't it'll be an utter travesty.
Poor man, IMO, gets so much stick for his appearance.

Geoff, do you watch Soccer AM? Used to be good, but in my opinion, has become almost unwatchable last couple of years. If ever a show has reached it's sell by date, it's that one! (Bouncebackability reminded me of the show lol)

Received a couple of PMs asking whether or not this coming fall/winter is the time to purchase a new home theater receiver (given some recent Dolby Atmos fanfare for home theater enthusiasts…. http://www.cnet.com/news/dolby-atmos...egra-and-more/ )

Answer – The most prudent thing to do would be to wait until things are fully baked if you’re interested in watching Beyond HD (8-bit Rec.709 1080 rez) content from Hollywood movie studios. Here’s a past link for movielabs posted before audio/video bloggers were even aware of them….. https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...bs#post8793977

Click the tab ^ for ‘Initiatives’ and read the spec for ‘enhanced content protection’ and you’ll see that the recommendation is for the system to allow HDCP 2.2. (or better) be required for content protection. Then carefully check the specs of the receiver you have in mind purchasing this fall to see if it supports HDCP 2.2 and passes full (*18 Gbps) HDMI 2.0 bandwidth, i.e. http://www.engadget.com/2013/09/04/h...channel-audio/

Unless any brands are capable of thee above, I’d keep my audio powder dry for now.

*actually to be precise, I think it works out to be 17.82 Gbps… https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...17#post8090709

How about receivers that support HDMI 2.0b? I think that revision supports 4k 12bit 4:4:4 at 60hz?

They need a new revision or they will be be left in the dust compared to Display Link 3.0 or Thunder Bolt 2!

What's annoying is that some manufacturers are releasing new amps with full-fat 18 Gb/s HDMI 2.0 and no HDCP 2.2 (apparently there's some sort of shortage of chips that can do both) while those that do include HDCP 2.2 only have 10.2 Gb/s HDMI hardware.

It's still a bit of a mess.

I thought Onkyo was the only one to offer HDCP 2.2 with 18 Gb/s HDMI 2.0? Or am I wrong?

No, I don't think that they do. Note that Onkyo repeatedly make reference to supporting "4K/60Hz" video in the specs and datasheets of their new models, they make no mention of what bandwidth they're using.

This was apparently said by a Pioneer rep:

"Regarding HDCP 2.2, none of our AVR's support it this year. Pioneer (As well as Denon and Yamaha) opted for full bandwidth HDMI 2.0 (18gbps) so that we can support 4:4:4 content as well as high dynamic range and expanded color gamut signals which require more that 10.2gbps. There currently is not a single chip solution that offers both 18gbps and HDCP 2.2. Onkyo decided to go with HDCP 2.2 by using a different brand HDMI repeater, however their HDMI 2.0 solution only offers 10.2gbps of bandwidth (Same as HDMI 1.4)."

How can it be the same as HMDI 1.4 if they advertise it as 2.0? Plus what about there high end receivers that support Dolby Atmos with 11 channels and the fact that they also advertise 4k60hz 12bit 4:4:4?

I heard HDCP 2.2 they use is a separate chip solution meant to work with the full HDMI 2.0 spec.

Default 4K Movies Releases

Because 10.2 Gb/s HDMI 2.0 is the same hardware as HDMI 1.4 with a firmware fiddle to enable 2.0 functionality. I haven't seen the link to their high end stuff that says it does 12-bit 4:4:4 4K @ 60 Hz and HDCP 2.2, do you have a link?
