I definitely wouldn't send either of the OOP titles if your copies play fine, and you were just hoping to get rot-proof copies in exchange. If your copies are unplayable, I don't see the difference between having a box on the shelf with an unplayable disc and a box on the shelf with no disc.

I'd said:
"Has WellGo officially announced the "recalled titles" list? I checked their webpage and couldn't find it. I'd like to read some kind of official list / instructions before I go popping discs in the mail. " I did, but it just links to someone reporting what was in a private e-mail. I'm wondering if WellGo has officially posted an announcement somewhere. |

I don't know about Criterion, but Well GO USA said they are trying to get the stock in, could take a while. I haven't heard about anyone receiving anything back from Criterion. I'm still waiting on a reply email about my 8 that need to be sent in (especially since only ONE of them is on their "list" right now)

They don't have to "correct" anything. Just use discs that were pressed more recently. Unless of course, they package/case them and don't have discs by themselves sitting around somewhere.

![]() [Show spoiler] Hey folks, decided to take a another look at my collection and inspect other titles that were released in the same date range as the titles that have been reported as having issues. Unfortunately, I found three more problem titles. My original findings are quoted and spoiler'ed above. Here are my new findings: Lola Montes Bronzing on inner ring No issues with chapter skip IFPI: 10K7 Hunger Bronzing on inner ring No issues with chapter skip IFPI: 10K6 Wings of Desire Bronzing on inner ring No issues with chapter skip IFPI: 10K6 And now, here is my updated list of problem titles: Need to replace the following: - In red, not on Criterion's official list. 1. Bigger Than life (Bronzing / 10K6) 2. Days Of Heaven (Bronzing / 10K7) 3. Howard's End (Bronzing / 10K7 / Playback issues) 4. Gomorrah (Bronzing / 10K7) 5. M (Bronzing / 10K7 / Playback issues) 6. Monsoon Wedding (Bronzing / 10K7 / Playback issues) 7. Paris, Texas (Bronzing / 10K7) 8. Pierrot Le fou (10K6) 9. Seventh Seal (Bronzng / 10K6) 10. Stagecoach (Bronzing / 10K6) 11. Lola Montes (Bronzing / 10K7) 12. Hunger (Bronzing / 10K6) 13. Wings of Desire (Bronzing / 10K6) |

When you say "inner ring", are you talking about the part w/o any data?

Here are two comparison pics: The first is from the film Seconds by Criterion. It is a bit difficult to see, but where the clear plastic ends, a white ring begins with a bit of red before it appearing from the disc art on the other side. So; clear plastic, red, then white ring. After the white ring ends, there begins a lighter silver section, followed by a larger dark silver section. Pic for Seconds: [Show spoiler] Now, here is a pic from my copy of M. Also from Criterion. The white ring is bronzed. Pic one of M: [Show spoiler] Pic two of M: [Show spoiler] Should I only be looking at the outer ring? Finally, on Lola Montes, Hunger, and Wings of Desire the inner ring on all three is not as bronzed as M. All three have more of a clear plastic / bronze mixture. But none of them have a white ring. |

Who's to say that all of the affected titles had pressings that were done at other facilities. The information I posted came directly from speaking with someone at the Criterion offices yesterday.
