Also, Dynaudio speakers do bass like no other speaker company I've ever heard. I don't know how they do it, but their speakers pump out a special kind of bass that is so much richer and satisfying than most of the competition. Dyn bass is something special. It's got lots of slam, but it's not boomy or uncontrolled in the least. To the contrary, it's fabulously powerful yet maintains a tightness and precision that has to be heard to be appreciated. It's definately the bass that separates Dyn from the "also rans" IMO. Of course they have fabulous mids and highs as well. That's a given, but if you want great mids and highs, there's a long long line of great stand mount options, but the vast majority have unsatisfying bass that robs music of emotion and leave you far less engaged. |

I think Callas will agree with me that Totem achieves something special also in their price point and also a pefectly balanced speaker. |

I would think the X32s are a slightly better speaker then the Sttafs based on what I have compared between the X16s and the Sttafs |

Rhett I took the chance of posting it here anyways
![]() I must say quite disapointing in the begining not really disapointing second best In my Book after the Sttaf because of the mids seemed to be lacking a little compare to the Sttaf but defenately had a bit more bottom end with the dual woofer X-over with their 1rst order. Did not feel as much seperation in the sound as I did with the Sttaf. Now to answer this Question mark, I said ok fine they sound amazing but a little something was missing seperation and definition in the sound that I had experience on Sttaf and also Rainmaker not to forget as I target the Rainmaker. I asked the salesman to change the amp from a 2200$ Moon audio (great product by the way made in Quebec) for those who know. Upgraded the amp to a 3300$ Moon again and insteand of the 1300$ moon cd player we went to something a little more sophisticated to a 3000$ cd player just about the same price as the Arcam cd37 on wich I heard the Staff. At this point Amps and CD players were aple to aples comaparaison and let me tell ya that the Excite X32 came to life, Separation and detail were above and beyond belief and gave me that great smile on my face, same one I had when I audition the Sttaf. Everything comes together nicely really great deep bass perfect midrange and those tweeters Rhett you said it absolutely phenomenal. One thing Steve had mentioned the Totems have this Magic tho I think they are more adaptable in a way than the Dyns, the Rainmaker and Staff respond better IMHO to a lower end gear speacially the Sttaf as it's the most versatile I heard them with an Integra receiver with a 200$ cd player and sounded almost as good as they did on the arcam obviously with less detail separation. I would say with that 3300$ Moon IA I think the Dynaudio has the edge over the Sttaf but on lower end System the Sttaf is more forgiving. Those speakers don't lie as Steve said. Now those bastard wont even order a pair of X12 for me to audition wich really sucks. As I said the supplier does not have one either they wanted me to buy if I wanted to hear the X12, I told them politely look I want to compare apples to apples, Monitor speakers in the same price range and they said well we cant. One thing I know now is they have been carrying Dyns for quite a while and they will continue to carry them. They had just barely recieved them 2 weeks ago but break in was done. They also sold their Audience 72 SE last week. Now I'm ready to buy my Rainmaker as they are much easy to get and I know what to expect from them. FYI Steve the 1300$ lower end Moon IA 45wpc blew away a 100wpc cambridge IA in the same price range. So the 2200$ was not shit I can tell you that much. I had compare those 2 amps on the Lextor 6, Entry level Dali that sounded fantastic A sound I love but not as Great as the Dyns or Totems. The 3300$ Moon IA seemed to surpass the peformance of the Arcam A38 also 3300$ but I heard the X32 and not the Sttaf. X32 by a close margin. ![]() BTW guys that Brothers in Arms SACD wow the bass was phenomenal speacially with Money for Nothing, those hit on the snair in the begining woohoo!!!! Amazing mids and when the bass drum kicks in well your hair raises all over your body. ![]() Last edited by BigAl87; 09-12-2010 at 03:22 PM. |

Will use the Sony for a short time, wife says I have to get the X22 and receiver with taxes and NOTHING ELSE for A LONG TIME, which I am cool with, so I will probably get whatever gets me the best price.

Congrats on the terrific purchase of Dynaudio speakers! I just know that you will enjoy them!
p.s. If you can - I would get a third x16 if it doesn't block your screen ![]() Last edited by prerich; 11-19-2010 at 07:53 PM. |

$500 for a 3 meter pair.... Ummm..... i don't think so. I am probably gonna get Anti-Cables. there is a guy on AVS forum that swears by them and he has Dyn speakers. I can get the front 3 speakers for about $80 glad you got a nice set of cables. how much did they cost you? |
