No idea. I never pay attention to the trophies.

Maybe having all characters alive is not good enough.
Perhaps you need to have them all take part in the final climatic struggle.
I don't pay attention to trophies either but I wouldn't mind getting all of the trophies in this game.

Finished first playthrough minutes ago. I'm a little disappointed in the gameplay, but the story kept me going, and I screwed some things up that I would like to change, so I'll play some more. Otherwise, it was not much else but playing twister with your fingers on the Dualshock. I was not able to put ointment on the burns in multiple attempts. I can't imagine how difficult this must be for someone with very large or very small hands. Piano players are probably at an advantage. Does lowering the difficulty make some of the fingerwork more forgiving? Does the difficulty level affect trophies?

Only got 34% after one game, but I played the first game with no outside contact (no spoilers, even from knowing what trophies were there). I essentially got everyone killed; that may have even shortened my game considerably.

This is definitely not a game for everyone. There are likely some harsh opinions.

It's not that I hate trophies, its just that I'm too dumb to know where to look. lol Maybe not dumb, that's probably downgrading myself too low, perhaps just lazy.

Most definately. But I judge my games base on story. Mainly rpg, adventure and the likes. Gameplay don't bother me much, since it's secondary. So in my view, Heavy Rain hit the goods in story department. Of course thats still up to opinion, and such.

The story is the game, without doubt, but I really think it would have been just as well served as a multi-character RPG-like game without all of the button mashing. I'm going to play again on a less difficult setting. I don't know how that changes the interactivity, yet, but I was distracted the entire time anticipating control intstructions. Don't get me wrong, I'm enjoying the game. I can't finish games that suck. I think fans of this game would have been equally well satisfied without all of the button sequences, rather just making dialog, direction and action decisions with adequate time to decide and, equally importantly, clearly legible options. Detractors would continue to detract, because there is no action.

All the playable characters have to be at the warehouse and survive that level to get the trophy. Ethan, Madison, and Norman all have to find the location somehow.

So Ethan can't be in jail or choose the wrong address in The Rat (assuming he didn't drink the poison), Norman can't give up when looking at the clues and has to choose investigate further when given the option to accuse Blake, and Madison has to find the address in the laptop. If Ethan or Shaun fail but are still alive, then Madison can call one of them after the apartment explosion.

I believe I got the "best" ending my first playthrough, as well.
Norman kills Scott, kicks his Tryptocaine addiction, goes on a talk show as "Almost single-handedly" catching the Origami Killer.
Ethan (after doing EVERYTHING he can to do so) saves Shaun, moves in to a new apartment with Madison. (I'm not really sure what happens to his wife, maybe after she "turns him in", he never forgives her.)
Lauren spits on Scott's grave.

I got something like 35% of the trophies my first play-through. Seeing as they are all listed in chronological order, it will be interesting to see which ones I missed. I will say that I got Scott's "The Invincible Mr. Shelby" trophy my first try (shoot all the guards before they can shoot you.) I thought that was one of the least-difficult quick-time events in the game.

Does anyone know which option is "Hard" on the difficulty settings? I presume it is "I play video games a lot. I am perfectly familiar with the controller," even though it is the default setting. It sounds like it is the hardest of the choices (how I played through, so I can't answer any "can you get trophies on 'I've never played video games before' setting.)

I also hit one part of the electric grid where I had to hold a particularly difficult set of buttons (5 at once, with the last "X" having to be tapped instead of held.) Reminds me of trying to pat your head and rub your belly at the same time.

It was equally difficult to dose Norman with Tryptocaine and still take out Mad Jack.

Ya, I went back and changed my ending to get the good ending too. Although I messed up on the part where you save Shelby with Jayden at first before he dies. I accidentally missed the button press so he just went straight to dying. So in the end I never got the trophy that you're supposed to get. So I'll have to redo it again. Still got all the good epilogue stuff though.

I'll stick with the real thing.

My least favorite thing about the game was the clock shop. How do you kill the old guy when your controlling Shelby the whole time. It doesn't make any sense.

How do you get Noman to quit? I don't like the tanks ending.

If I remember correctly, have Norman give up during "Solving the Puzzle", and make sure one of the other characters save Shaun. If Shaun dies, he'll overdose.

What an absolutely amazing game. What an experience. What a thrill. Better than most TV shows and movies out there today. I was thinking this could have been an amazing 12 part 12 hour miniseries. Just so much cool stuff to do but the game just continually leaves you on the edge of your seat.

Couldn't believe who the killer was. He was the only one who didn't suspect haha. Can't wait to play through again because everyone but the killer died on me so I want to make sure they all live. I got the super depressing ending haha.

I don't like that ending either, it didn't really make much sense.

Actually, pay attention to that scene again.

When Lauren was playing around with the figurine, we did not see Shelby. That moment should give Shelby enough time to go smack the old dude and return to his position.

Again, go watch the scene where Shelby sits at his desk burning things, when he reflect back to that moment, while smacking the old dude, you can hear a bell ringing sound in the background. The very same sound that came from the figurine box Lauren was playing with at the time.

This is the only time in that entire event where you did not get to see Shelby. The camera only focus on Lauren, before you could take control of Shelby once more.

Only for the "simple mind" Bronze trophy. For the silver "Four Heroes "trophy you need Norman Jayden, Ethan, Madison to make it to the final scene. Also just make sure the scene where Madison escape Shelby's burning apartment to call Jayden if Ethan already knows the location Shaun.

I just got done with my 2nd play through and it turned out a lot happier this time around than after my 1st play through.

- Ethan & Shaun end up alive and get a new apartment.
- Madison writes her book, goes on a talk show, and does a book signing.
- Jayden appears on the talk show as a hero, kicks his drug addiction for good, sees tanks on his desk with & without ARI glasses.

Gameplay wise my least favorite parts in the game was "The Butterfly chapter having to figure out that maze in the tunnels crawling through shards of glass, and after making it out having to figure out the maze of electric cords while having to contort all of your fingers on both hands.

Some people here on that part used other bodily parts to get the job done on that part of the game

My brother just finished his 2nd play-through, however, in the end where Shelby and Jayden are fighting, he accidentally killed Jayden, but he still got the four heroes trophy. Weird.
