This was one of my concerns when last season ended and was hoping they would address it or I would have been pissed. Deb should also be suspicious that he was in the garage when they were going in and hopefully this adds a ton of tension. It scares me that the main writers have moved on though.

The Original left the show. I saw it in an article right after the end of Season 4.

Writer/Executive Producer/Showrunner Clyde Phillips, who had been with the show since the pilot, left the show after the last season. He was replaced by Chip Johannessen, a producer on 24.

Was just talking with a friend of mine who ran through all four seasons recently, and she was watching the finale......wait for it.... in the bathtub.

She has a tv set up in her bathroom, and was actually in the bathtub when she saw the finale.

How messed up is THAT?

'Dexter' collars 'Southland' cop Shawn Hatosy

That's what I was thinking... both him and Deb work so it's not like they can be there with the baby all the time.

Thanks. I had read that before but kinda forgot about it. So basically he left while everything was good, but once it was all over he left because he knew it was 50/50 for next season.

I just finished season 4 and all I can say is DAMN!! The ending is such a bummer =(
I haven't seen any of season 5, I live in Germany so I have to download them off the computer. I can't wait to see it though. Sorry I haven't read any of the other posts in here so hopefully I'm on the same topic.

Season 5 doesn't start until September here anyway. They're still filming, I think they just started recently and film until September.

Ok sweet. I'm usually behind on shows so I really never have to wait for the next season. But Dexter is freaking awesome!! After the way the way the 4th season ended I'm curious to see how 5 is going to go.

Yeah I have the same problem, I can never get caught up with shows in time. I'm trying to catch up on True Blood but it starts tomorrow so there's no way I can watch 16 episodes by then haha. And same with a bunch of other shows but I'm gonna try.

I didn't get caught up with Dexter until the 4th or 5th episode into S4. I can't wait until August when it comes out, so hopefully that can hold me over until S5 starts. I've been trying pretty hard not to watch S4 because then I'll drive myself crazy.

Hopefully they can pull S5 off like they did with S4, but it's gonna be tough trying to live up to that.

I've seen it already. I watched a couple episodes more than once and the finale I watched two days in a row because I didn't believe it lol
