Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has officially announced The Karate Kid for release on Blu-ray on October 5. This remake of the 1984 movie stars Jaden Smith as the new karate kid (or kung fu kid) and Jackie Chan as his master. It will be presented in a single-disc edition and a BD/DVD combo.
