I never got Cars 2 to play on either of my 3D players. I basically paid 20-something dollars for a coaster and some DMR points.

Not a bad movie although I definitely enjoyed cars 1 more. I also felt the 3D was stronger in the first, just my opinion though.

Just watched CARS 2 for the first time, after having watched CARS for the first time a few days ago. I really liked the first film; loved the characters and design and animation, good story arc for McQueen, and really good 3D for Pixar. The second film isn’t as good, and definitely suffers from sequelitis, with an ill-advised focus on the Mater character, but it’s not nearly as bad as its rep IMO, and what really saves it are the wonderful Michael Caine and Emily Mortimer as the delightfully named Bondian car-acters Finn McMissile and Holley Shiftwell, who effortlessly steal the show. In fact, the glorious opening scene of Finn’s infiltration of the oil rig is brilliantly done, one of Pixar’s finest hours, and especially stunning and thrilling in 3D. Finn and Holley make the movie, and because of them I’m really glad I picked it up.

I have CARS 3 on order and am looking forward to completing the trilogy.

The backcover lists Hawaiian Vacation as being on the 3D disc, but I just loaded it up and the only short available on the disc is Air Mater.
