This release is 2 blu rays and a cd, hence it's a little bit more expensive than usual.

Loved/hated that song when I was a teen, btw.

Price will go down...that being said Amazon will probably not be the best source to purchase from.

Correct. Grindhouse Releasing titles are cheaper at Diabolik than Amazon.

With shipping, it comes to $30.49. Still pretty friggin' expensive.

Personally, I wish Grindhouse Releasing would offer a single disc release, at a reduced price. I'm not really interested in the extra stuff.

This film merits as many interesting extras as possible and thankfully Grindhouse looks like they've done good. Obviously if you want a non-existant single disc release, you'll find that the collector's edition is expensive

Shipping to France with diabolik is 14.25 dollars by the way, but as I've been waiting for this for years, I caved in.

Wait, so I pre-ordered from amazon because Diabolik said "Out of stock" under the Holocaust release. And looking back on it, I'm sure it says Out of Stock because they don't actually have the Blu's in yet. At first I was thinking that they possibly only had a certain amount of them for people to pre-order and that all the spaces for pre-books were taken. Can someone confirm or deny this, because Amazon is charging $40 for this release, and I will easily change my pre-order to Diabolik if they in fact will have them.

That was my understanding as well. I'm just hoping the Amazon.com price will drop down a little so that it almost matches the price at Diabolik. Wont mind paying a dollar or two more at amz.

Diabolik already made it clear that this is NOT a limited edition and they can take as many preorders that come in. And it's the norm on their site to show "out of stock" on preorders because they haven't got the items in yet (as they don't even exist yet). So I think you are assured to get one if you place a pre-order there. I buy all my Grindhouse titles there as they have the best prices for that label.

Amazon's prices have become absurd in some cases, at least where cult and horror titles are concerned.

The price will likely be cheaper for Cannibal Holocaust (at Amazon) when it's released. The Big Gundown has the same MSRP as CH, and it was about $24 when it came out. For people that get free shipping with Prime (like me), Amazon remains the best option.

They were selling it for less than $19? I kind of doubt it. Their current price shows $26.99, so with shipping it would be more than $30 (although it's out of stock at this point).

They were selling the disc for less than Amazon. Why do you doubt that ?

As an aside, you're talking Amazon Prime free shipping. That doesn't apply to me, so, if you don't have prime, Diabolik are cheaper than Amazon for Grindhouse Releasing titles before release date (and often after).

I'll be very surprised if Cannibal Holocaust drops to 25 dollars at Amazon before release date.

Yeah thats what I figured, after I actually turned my brain on. Ive sinced cancelled with amazon and ordered from Diabolik instead. Thanks for the response.
