I am not pleased to hear that because the 2nd season blu-rays are showing up at my house tomorrow.
![]() Could you run that "solution" by me again. So you're saying if I want to play episode 1 (which screwed up) that I should put in disc 2, choose episode 1, and then put that disc in? I'm having a really hard time believing that Sony could let this go for so long. I knew I should have gotten the Panasonic player to match the TV. |

Well, you weren't wrong. It stopped 28 minutes into the first episode. I did your trick and it worked....until the 44th minute.
The DVD played fine through the first two episodes of season 2. It also just generally looks better than the blu-ray. The quality isn't as fine, but I've noticed that when the blu-ray is working there are noticeable vertical black lines in some scenes. |

I have both season 1 & 2 Game of Thrones on BluRay and when I played them in a Samsung BluRay player I couldn't even get past 3 minutes before skipping, no audio, picture freeze. I went out and bought a Sony BDP-S790 BluRay player and have not had any issues playing either season. The verdict: Samsung bluRay players suck!

No problem with loading and playing disc 1 on my Pioneer BDP-320, but just tried loading it in my PC with an LG blu-ray writer and PowerDVD 9 and it will not play. Just keeps recycling through a prompt about needed a software upgrade, says it completed the upgrade, then fails with the same message again.

It has something to do with AACS and profiles and such...once you've put in a disc with a certain profile (for me it was GoT S3), it basically locks out discs, even from playback. Some older discs will play, many won't - it basically just bricks the thing from reliable Blu-ray playback though you can still burn Blu-ray (data or video) just fine from existing files. If you google with your model number I'm sure you'll find out more about it, but the only solutions I was able to find were way too manual/complex and the essential message I got was it was just too much of a PITA to bother with and it was time to get a new burner. |

Just watched the first 8 episodes (having to remove and clean the discs several times before they would play and having to pause and start to resynch the sound) the the disc with the last two episodes would not play no matter what I did. So after over twenty tries and putting other blu rays in to make sure it wasn't my player...i was so pissed i threw the whole collection away. Had similar problems with the other seasons...none this bad.

When trying to play disc 1 and 2 for season 4, it seemed to take anywhere from 5-10 minutes waiting for the disc to load, and when it finally got to the main menu, it worked perfectly. The rest of the discs loaded just fine, though.
