I think they are mistaken. At that price, I can see many people waiting for the price drop.

Here is another example of 3D shooting itself in the foot.

I'm assuming there will be another price drop before the release date at Best Buy. I used to work there and sometimes they would change the price all the way up to the day it was released.

I hope you are right but that is the price in their advertisement. Also, Target is not advertising IM 3D at all. Target doesn't seem to know if they want to support 3D or not. I mean they didn't sell Oz, Gatsby, and now IM 3D on their release day.

How was the 3D theatrically? We saw a 3D trailer and it looked pretty outstanding.

I really liked it in the theater. Don't expect it to be fantastic during close dialog, but the set pieces looked really good and I was impressed by how clear it was. I definitely want the 3D version, but the pricing on every option is such a huge turn off that my money is going toward Wizard of Oz and Pacific Rim. I will wait to see if there is a holiday time sale that makes the price more reasonable.

Yep, it's pretty good. Very natural, doesn't feel too forced or 'in your face'.

I saw Iron Man 3 in the theatre with a friend. Unfortunately we saw the digital version. Throughout the movie, I thought to myself, such and such a scene would look really awesome in 3D. So for me, watching it next week will be the first time in 3D as well. The 2D version was ok. Probably adding the 3D will make watching the movie much more enjoyable.

You're right. They just released a special edition of Star Trek into Darkness 3D, but then we don't know if this will even be at Target this Tuesday, so I wonder what's going on with the people making the decisions for Target.

I enjoyed the 3D also. A mostly upper Medium with some strong 3D mix for the 3D layers.

Agreed. And if it's 36$ on release day for the 3D, I'll wait till it hit's the $20's. As someone else suggested, Amazon changed it last minute to 19.99 for Avengers 3D and offered a free MP3 Album.

3D review up. Not sure how it gets 5 stars if it is virtually non-existent. I understand its not the fault of the transfer, but if there's a separate 3D review it should be scored appropriately if the 3D is barely noticeable. Another pointless conversion release on Blu-ray, and tons of people are going to waste their money on this.

I fully understand that the rating of the movie itself in the reviews is, unlike the technical ratings, completely personal, so much so that, even if I enjoy reading them sometimes, I often wonder if they should be there at all, for they have really nothing to do with the blu-ray release, but only with the artistic merits of the movie.

Having said that... I must say I feel somewhat disappointed to see my favorite reviewer here, Kenneth Brown, giving such an enthusiastic support to this clunker that has come to negate most of all the good work and the right decisions on Marvel Studios management of their movie universe so far, and has turned, I am afraid, a new leaf for a "Phase 2" that won't be about superheroes anymore, but rather about a stale, rancid, low common denominator mix of action movie cliches right out from the 80's but with so-called super-heroes in them as deceiving mastheads, all of it neatly wrapped into a blockbuster full of noise and fake fury.

I am also sad to learn that this release comes to confirm the law of diminishing returns regarding the extra features section. And the weak, meager selection is only made worse by these:

Quote:
Restore the Database Second Screen Experience (HD): Rather than offer fans a straight-forward Second Screen experience, users must first download Marvel's Iron Man 3: Jarvis app, and then locate and scan all of the encrypted file images scattered across the Blu-ray with your iOS device (scannable images typically appear upon returning to the disc's main menu after viewing each special feature). All files must be uncovered and scanned before the full interactive feature is accessible. Commendable, but cumbersome and time-consuming.
Great... So, unlike other past Second Screen apps, this will be completely useless on my camera-less 1st gen. iPad. Way to go.

Restore the Database Second Screen Experience
So, um, what exactly does this consist of when all the "files" are scanned? The review doesn't actually say what's there?
