Yeah they should really know better than to do films like this, it makes them seem desperate for money. Bruce Willis and John Cusack are well known stars and could easily be doing more Hollywood films instead of taking the time to do these lower budgeted films for a quick paycheck.

Bruce Willis seems to really like to slum it for a quick paycheck, but for Patric and Cusack the well has been pretty dry for a while. Sometimes you gotta take what you can get. Those small indie movies made for pennies that no one sees don't pay the bills.

Not sure when and where he said it, but I saw a quick interview with the Rock where he said "The Expendables aren't ready for me yet". That means 1 or 2 things.

1. You cannot afford my actor's salary.

2. I would never ruin my image by being in a franchise that centers on the action stars of days past.

I don't think he has an image to ruin. He's done wildly crappy stuff before and has come away unscathed. Look at all the sequels he's been in where he wasn't even in the original.

The Expendables franchise can't afford him.

Wait so "Reach Me" changed its name to "Out of Sight" and will go straight to DVD/BD?

I'm guessing it'll be one of those movies with different names in different parts of the world.

He probably wasn't happy with the role he was offered.

Yeah the UK release will be named out of sight and it looks like it will be direct to DVD here anyway. I think the US is getting a theatrical release though.

to be fair, I find it hard to believe that actors like John Cusack hasn't got enough money after 30 sucessful years in Hollywood, so he can say no to garbage like this "Prince" movie and wait for a decent script to come along...

I'm pretty sure he could easily survive a few months, maybe a year or two, paying the bills and waiting for the right script.

Yea, that is prob the case, but to the point, he doesn't really need to do one now anyway, right?

Well actually, Millennium Films can easyly afford Mr. Johnson. And keep in mind Mr. Johnson only commands $10 Million to cary a film (According to Forbes), and that was for Hercules (2014), and gets paid less when he is part of an enssembled cast, like the Fast movies and Pain & Gain, He certainly did not get paid $10 Million for Snitch & Faster (They were independent films), and he also didnt get pay nowhere near $10 million for the direct to video Empire State (2013).

Now, Mr Stallone in the other hand got paid $20 Million + for the first Expendables (directors and writter equals the +) and $15 Million + for Expendables 2 & 3 (writter equals the +).

Arnold got paid $5 million + $1 million credit line to spend in Bulgaria, for a couple of weeks of wok on both Part 2 & 3. $1 million to do a walk through in L.A. for Part 1.

Bruce Willis was paid $2 Million for Expendables for a day's work and $3 Million $1 million credit line to spend in Bulgaria for part 2, was offered $3 Million for 4 days work for part 3, but declined.

Van Damme was paid his usual and cust $3 Million + $1 million credit line to spend in Bulgaria for Expendables 2.

Norris was given $1 Million + $1 million credit line to spend in Bulgaria for Expendables 2.

Dolph got paid his usual $2 Million + $1 million credit line to spend in Bulgaria for all three films.

So if The Rock was not in any of these films it was probably because he super booked for the next couple of years. And the "The Expendables aren't ready for me yet" was probably a joke in regards his age compared to the age of the other actors. And I just cant seem to remember the last time a film starring the Rock grossed more than $100 Million in the US box office that he was the single star of? Not even Hercules has reached $100 million in the US. He cannot not carry a movie by himself, with his name only, that can reach $100 Million, now Stallone and Schwarzenegger have done it multiple times, by themselves.

The Rock should smell what he is cooking and respect his elders!

Stallone's answer to expendables 4, it sounds like the leak has definitely killed it for now.

The one time I don't attend Olympia, Stallone does a random signing! FML...

They can probably get Part 4 made, but it will have to be through Kickstarter at this point.

Disgusting to see that crowd fawning over him like that. Bet you most of those people didn't even bother to go watch Expendables 3. Fake ass fans!

I don't see the point of more Expendable films without the main 80's stars. This is why they should end, the whole point was to have all the 80's action men together, not the new modern day wannabes like Lutz.

If they do more they should retire Sly and a few others and have other classic old school action stars come on board (maybe even get killed).

Crunch the numbers and actually when all was said and done I was quite surprised at where EX3 landed.

Worldwide gross for EX3 ended up just a few bucks under $190M. So surprisingly enough it was a profitable venture at worst. And you could make the argument that if not for the leak, it could have made a run at EX1 box office gross.

To give you some perspective:

Worldwide gross for EX2 = $305M
Worldwide gross for EX1 = $274M

Getting John Woo for an EX4 and more balanced screen time for everyone, while eliminating zoom in close up shots like the 1 minute one during EX3 on the plane of Stallone's forehead and eyebrows; this series can have new founded hope.

Also Banderas still has it and it was great to see him and hope he comes back. But they have to be very careful with his character angle of desperation/talking too much. Because it is quite easy to cross the line of a potential Jar Jar Binks if they are not careful.

So now Sly is finally getting it. Figures only after the fact. The numbers/the fans have spoken. Anyway, what's done is done.

My thoughts though would be to forget "The Expendables" entirely as a name at this point. Better for him to simply do a standalone action movie with (insert 3 or 4 TRUE 80's action star names here) and FOR THE LOVE OF GOD get someone else besides Avi Lerner to fund it. Half the blame towards PG-13 goes to that guy, not Sly.

All it would take, really, is for Sly and co. to do exactly what Arnold suggested on the Howard Stern back in 1994. Take a cut in pay and use the budget to get good writers and a good director. I mean FFS, an action movie today DOES NOT need a 100 million dollar budget.

As for my 80's action stars suggestions:

- Arnold
- Van Damme
- Kurt Russell
- Seagal (him & Lerner had a money dispute. Hence why Seagal always said "No")

Any one of them could be the bad guy, but personally I'd like to see Arnold play a real villain for once in his career. Terminator and Mr. Freeze don't count.

It's funny to see Stallone flip flopping all over the place. Now he is back to 'hardcore R bloody mode'.

Funny thing is the only movie Seagal released in the 80's was Above the Law. Everything else was in the 90's (well technically I guess some of those 1990's movies were filmed in 89).

Expendables can still be done properly, just need to bring in the right washed up old guys, and stop trying to bring in new blood for the teenagers who don't even know who half of the cast are.
