Best news I've read about this. And I won't miss Garfield. He was serviceable at best. Apparently Logan Lerman is the favorite and if so, I'm fine with that choice. I'm just so happy we're finally done with the Marc Webb craptacular Spider-Man series (even though the last one was OK, the first one was flat-out unwatchable).

I like all of this, and have wanted to see Mysterio on-screen since the first Raimi film. He's my fave villain from the comics.

Kind of funny how this all played out. I guess in the future the Raimi films will be seen kind of like the Burton Batman films, and the Webb ones will be seen as the Schumacher ones.
Webb is a great director who got railroaded by Sony and Arrid.
He had the best Spiderman/Parker combo and a believable love story.
And for a director not versed with action he managed to pull off decent action beats.
Joel was detached from what made batman, batman.

And God no for Logan, he is painfully wooden

It's disappointing that we won't see how everything would have played out had Webb and Garfield finished their series, especially considering what all was being set up for future installments. But for this reboot, I just hope they skip the origin story and bring us new villains. I know that Green Goblin is an important villain for Spider-Man, but we've seen him and the origin story twice already.

The thread title correct? Does the reboot come before or after the civil war appearance?

After. He'll be appearing in Captain America: Civil War next year.

the best part about this is now marvel can start introducing spider-man into the MCU by having characters talk about him. news report on a tv in the backround of a scene, a newspaper article, hell ant-man could complain that spider-man is a way cooler sounding name than his when he hears about him.

few movies of this and the build up will be enough to establish that hes been around doing hero work for a while so that when hes introduced on screen it will be "amazing".

Webb is a great director??? He's directed three movies and only one of them (500 Days of Summer) is any good. I never said the films were totally his fault, but I would call them Webb's films regardless of interferance. If they weren't maybe he should've demanded his name taken off the credits.

Fox is doing an excellent, sublime job.

They actually casted a serios guy to play Wolverine and not a comedian.
And that is why your take on Spiderman cannot be taken seriously, If you rate Origins as a 7/10 send me what you smoked before you posted because that is truly laughable. Ramis Spiderman 1/2 had the same feel as X-Men 1/2 Before the jokes that were X3 and Origins.

Best thing about the new films was Emma Stone, and they couldn't bring her back after the last one.

I'm seriously hoping the next thing they announce is a Daily Bugle show to join the line up of Netflix series. It would honestly write itself.

I thought Garfield was a great Spiderman, he had the cockiness in the costume that was sorely missing from Ramis version. Would have liked for him to continue but Marvel wanted him gone dunno why.

I wonder if they are still filming Season 2 of Agents of Shield, that would be a great place for a first reference to Spidey

Well, the finale airs in May, and TV shows are usually about two months behind. I wouldn't be surprised if they were still preparing the season finale...which would be a good place for a throwaway line about a "kid from Queens" or a reference to the Daily Bugle.
