I canceled my Mad Max that was backordered with no issues. I also cancelled a different item earlier this week that was backordered as well.

Yeah, just tested it by ordering another Mad Max steel, waited until the backorder alert came up, then cancelled it. However, could not cancel the initial order I placed 7/24 -- no reason given. Perhaps it does have to do with card authorization?

In any case, they should come up with terminology other than "backordered" because this signifies to me "unavailable" and "not guaranteed".

It was listed in this these weeks ad for that price.

If you wait a few days it should also provide a free CN code you can redeem and will let you watch the movie that day.
The preorder cards should be in store but may not be out till Tuesday.

I was like $19.99 for the SB and you get a CN code to watch it right then deal.

According to the ad, the cards should be out 8/11 and the deal online should be live then as well.

I turned Child 44 off after the ambush on the train. I hate turning movies off without finishing them and I feel I should give it another shot, but it just wasn't holding my attention last night. Which is super rare for me. But how can you call Fury Road garbage?

EDIT: I just finished Child 44. Solid performances all around, but the story is a mess. I won't watch it ever again.

the BB site says that the steelbook is only available for shipping, not for in-store pickup. So does that mean there's going to be lots of copies in stores since they don't have to put any aside for website orders?

you can probably change it to store pickup sometime closer to release date

Store pickup option is always unavailable at first for pre orders. It will show up as an option closer to release.

Still I would wait to buy it till the cinemanow code is included. That will probably go live Monday night since the cards are supposed to be out this Tuesday.
