The Halloween films that I love are very close to my heart because for me the original is the greatest horror film every made and feel that parts 2 and 4 are also very high up there, so when the series took the dive that it did it really disappointed me and I can't bear to watch the ones I don't like.

I know there are other fans that love the other sequels though and hold those close to their hearts as well.

I think the brilliance of the first film is something upon which all horror fans can agree. The worthiness of the sequels is another matter entirely. Personally, I think it's a question of how bad each one is rather than how good they are. To each their own, though

I only really like 1, 2 & 3. There's still a John Carpenter vibe in 2 & 3.
4, 5 & 6 are passable and Pleasance is the only thing keeping it going.
H20 was good at updating it for the Scream crowd, but fell short. Resurrection is just crap.

Really looking forward to this one, it's early on but sounds very intriguing so far.

I'm sorry but I haven't kept up on the developments for this.

How much is known about the story so far?

...basic rundown of the plot?

Nothing so far! All we know is that Danny McBride said the creative team are just "trying to strip it down and just take it back to what was so good about the original" and that it's "not a reboot, it’s not gonna be a rehash. It’s a continuation of Michael Myers." Though he wouldn't say where they're picking up from.

William Shatner huffs white spray paint and gets it all over himself, kills people in a blind rage.

If Jordan Peele can make a horror movie, why not McBride?

Yup, McBride is co-writing it. He said it won't be funny and he wants to take it back to the roots of 1&2.

I hoping Green and McBride do a good job with this one because we haven't had a strong Halloween installment since H20 and Carpenter's direct involvement with this might be kick in the but the franchise needs.

Zombie's Halloween (the first one) is better than any of the 90s & Beyond sequels.

There hasn't been a good Halloween movie since 1981, and even that film was deeply unnecessary. It doesn't matter if Carpenter is involved (aka cashing an easy paycheck), this is still gonna be trash. How about making a NEW classic movie, John?
