I knew that, I just thought that there was a Dutch dub made at some point.

Poor screencapture. I sadly don't have a VCR with a built-in time base corrector.

You can get this one for around 6000 yen or less before shipping via a proxy buying service. I bought this set from the FromJapan proxy buying service. I know I'm way late here, but is there any way to still get this?

I think I found it on Amazon Japan, but the format is a PS3 game so...I'm a little confused lol

Yeah, that's the set. The two movies are on regular Blu-ray discs, but the bonus features are on an interactive PS3 disc.

I'm not sure if any of the third party sellers on Amazon ship the set abroad, but you can use a proxy buying service such as FromJapan.co.jp. Be aware that there are Blu-ray and DVD versions of the set.

Damn, have a seller that can ship to the US on Amazon JP, but not sure if it's the DVD or blu-ray version lol

Either way, thanks for the info.

I'll be happy if we get a US release of Macross on BD in the near future. By all accounts, HG's latest attempt at making money from Robotech merch is not going well and this bodes well for a future release, hopefully with the ADV dub.

You may want to check the Amazon US site to see if anyone is selling it there, that's where I got my set years ago.

Providing Tatsunoko don't shit the bed, then HG become irrelevant in 2021....finally!

I know they want to pretend Macross II never happened so no Ishtar, but no Sharon Apple either?

("Well, Ishtar wasn't an idol, so of course she isn't included, dummy." Then what about Sharon Apple, who was definitely an idol?)

Whatever, I still want to buy that poster. Mikimoto and his funny current style ears...

True, but she's a virtual idol and
[Show spoiler]her AI wasn't even fully complete
. As such she doesn't really fit in thematically with the concert's featured singers.

Macross Frontier recognized Apple as an idol (or was it Delta?) in a quick scene of former idols. This was clearly an oversight by the artist imo

It was Macross Delta that done that, but the first Macross Frontier movie mentioned Sharon Apple in the Sheryl Nome concert (although they spelled her name as "Shalon Apple").

Regarding Sharon Apple herself, I don't know how it would've worked as Sharon's songs had a number of different artists, namely Gabriela Robin, Akino Arai (who also did Myung Fang Lone's singing voice), Mai Yamane, Melodie Sexton, Wuyontana and the long disbanded Raiché Coutev Sisters (which formed of Robin, Arai, Wuyontana and Koko Komine).

This is what Mikimoto's art looks like nowadays? Wow, his old watercolor illustrations were gorgeous and unmistakable, I would never have guessed that poster was by him.

In all honesty, I'm excited for the new Delta movie, and I'm one of the fewest to actually enjoy the series, if anything, I enjoyed it enough to buy all 9 volume BDs and the first movie BD. While I didn't think the series was as good as Frontier, I definitely consider this underrated (at least, in the western fandom). And I honestly think that the weakest Macross entry is the movie edition of Macross Plus (and that's after a re-watch of all Macross series, which turned my opinion of Macross 7 around in a good way).

At this point, I really hope I don't get s**t after admitting I enjoyed Macross Delta (and to the lesser extent, feeling that Macross Plus Movie Edition is the weakest).
