Those are already released by GKIDS (through Universal), and even if they weren't, they're not Ghibli so they wouldn't be part of this deal. Plus, Miss Hokusai is the only one out of those that's actually anime, the other two are from France.

Finally decided to get these on Blu with the good prices and all. Had a few of them on DVD. Based on the various threads here I decided to get the Disney releases of:
- Arrietty - The Cat Returns - Howl's Moving Castle - My Neighbor Totoro - Porco Rosso - Spirited Away - Tales from Earthsea - Whisper of the Heart - The Wind Rises - Ponyo (I know it has lossy audio, but it's not worth 6$ to me just for that) -Nausicaa (Again, not worth 6$ to me just for some credits) Then I'll be getting Gkids versions of Kiki, Laputa, and Mononoke. And then at some point I'll get the previous GKids releases like Only Yesterday. |

I haven't watched the blu-ray myself, since that one wasn't my favorite, so I'm used to the old DVD version which has the orchestral score and the chatter. The blu-ray has the synth score and lacks the chatter. We don't know if the new release will have the orchestral score or the synth score yet. |

Best Buy has Porco Rosso and The Secret World of Arrietty up for pre-order at a handsome price of $17.99. Hopefully Amazon will price match.

I was thinking I might be interested in picking up Pom Poko this time around, but only if the tanuki are called tanuki, and refer unabashedly to their testicles, as Jesus intended. |

I don't even remember tanuki in Only Yesterday...
I kind of get the rationale behind calling them raccoons, though. It's like how when I taught in Japan, we would translate mukade and suzumebachi into centipedes and giant hornets for the kids in class, even though there's no way in hell I'd consider a mukade and a centipede to be the same creature (mukade are as thick as your finger and can be 8 inches long), and "giant hornet" is a massive understatement seeing as how a suzumebachi sting can put you in the hospital. I guess it boils down to how they're taught not to leave a word in Japanese unless they absolutely have to, whereas we embrace loan words from various languages. |

The Gkids Arrietty disc may have both English dubs.
