Well for me using the music from ALIENS was distracting. I had probably played the soundtrack CD dozens of times before I saw Die Hard, and at the time didn't realize that the particular track hadn't actually been used in ALIENS.

I didn't mind the ending otherwise, though how Karl had survived up until that point didn't make much sense.

That's a well used movie cliche, the baddie/monster is well & truly dead...only to turn up (accompanied by a dramatic music cue) & try to kill the hero with his/her last breath.

Will Fox be using the most recent 4K scan or will they continue recycling that old DVD master? That'll be the question that will make or break this release. BTW, shouldn't this be in the International UHD section, at least until a US counterpart is announced?

I happen to love the second film as much as the original. So what if the same template is used? The action is spectacular and all the characters are well written -it all works. I wasn't crazy about Part 3 initially but it has grown on me. It doesn't feel like a Die Hard film but it is fun. The fourth entry feels even less like a DH film but I really enjoyed that one. The fifth is a goofy Bruce Willis action movie, nothing more. If people who hate it think of it that way they'll probably enjoy it more.

It would really surprise me, if they didn't use the 4K remaster which is on itunes!

I'm pretty sure that The Mummy Returns used the DVD master. I could be wrong though.

Yeah I think it was only the first one that got a new 4K transfer.

It's still meant to look a lot better then the normal BD though.

Like I said it's meant to look good, it's just not meant to be a new scan.

Yes, you're wrong on this one.

It's a very nice disc and makes up for the dodgy Blu-ray.
