True, that is odd.

Although WB is hit and miss with catalog titles on 4K IMO. Most of the time it feels like they aren't releasing as many 4K titles as we would like.

I think about this time last year it was a rumor that POLTERGEIST was coming to 4K UHD but then nothing ever happened. The good thing about a POLTERGEIST release would be WB doesn't have to worry about people begging for extras for a 4K release because they usually don't get anything beyond a commentary on a 4K disc as far as bonus features go.

I thought the price was pretty fair on this so i went for the pre-order. I have purchased this movie so many times, but i love it ... oh well !

Hopefully we get Part 2 (and 3 to a lesser degree) soon

I really enjoyed the first one. I definitely would buy it again in 4K.

I'm not expecting much of an improvement, but I will end up purchasing simply because I want to own Halloween in the best quality possible. I'm trying to only upgrade my favorites to UHD, and this fits the bill.

Also, anyone else hope this comes with a digital copy? I know it's not currently on VUDU, but this is a good opportunity to add it. It would make me a feel a whole lot better about buying this film for the zillionth time.

No way I’m even considering getting this until the original mono is verified by an actual review. Color schemes and such notwithstanding, I can’t STAND listening to this movie any other way.

i'm not sure if i wanna upgrade to 4k but if the 4k release of this looks WAY better than the 35th anniversary blu-ray i'll probably consider it

Yes I can keep my Halloween timelines separate lol...Original series in the blu-ray boxset and the 4K release side by side with Halloween 2018 when that 4K is released

"better" is so very, very subjective when it comes to this movie though. The latest transfer really is rather good so this UHD will have to go some way to being vastly betterer. I mean, if it were Sony doing it then it'd never be in doubt but any other studio? Hmph.

Very true. That’s why I bolded should. I was pleased with the 35th anniversary as well and my expectations are in-line with the source material and frankly if I get a little boost in detail with more highlight and shadow detail and I’ll be one happy pumpkin.

I love Desperado. It's also the first commentary I ever heard (laserdisc), and it's one of the best, too. Rodriguez knows how to talk!
I think it would be so gloriously sexy in 4k. I always think about it, and I drool at the idea of earthy browns, rusty reds, and bright christmas lights (at the beginning) and burning sunlight in HDR... Ungh.

I was wondering why everyone seems so optimistic about this and American Psycho. I'm a bit concerned what with Lionsgate's reputation for catalogue titles. They haven't been the best reviewed...
