Well that's interesting. I wonder why some copies didn't have it. Is Disney cutting back, or did they miss printing deadlines?

Guess we'll know more when The "Return on Investment" Lion comes out on the 22nd.

Thank God the french can now understand what product they're buying with the "T" in front of "Chernobyl".

Imagine that! Before that translation, other scholars, no Francophone knows the title of that movie! Thank god for the language police!

That is so painful to see. Feels like just yesterday I was able to walk into a store and buy a Disney title carefree...

I ended up getting TS4 from Amazon US. I had to make a purchase anyway so it was worth it.

Usually the bilingual covers are annoying. And I know it's been mentioned, but that Toy story 4 cover... Wow. what an eyesore!

That is all.

I'm just importing everything Disney from now on. I already hated bilingual crap, but Disney bilingual somehow made it worse with their Marvel and animated titles. It looks ugly and I can't imagine anyone actually wanting this on their shelf.

Apparently it's only material that's actually made in Canada that's subject to these stupid laws, which must be how WB (in the last couple months) and smaller labels like Shout get away with selling English-only covers; they're sent up directly from the US, whereas Disney's and other studio's bilingual art must be printed somewhere in Canada.

Hopefully one day they decide it's cheaper to just go the WB route, stop their separate printing operations in Canada, and just send everything up from the US. If Quebec doesn't like it, they can ban the films from being sold in their province; it wouldn't be the first time they've tried cutting of their nose to spite their face.

But until then, these covers are intolerable and there's no price I won't pay to avoid them. Fortunately I drive down to Buffalo pretty frequently, so I just pick up Disney (and Fox) stuff there, now. Along with whatever else may not be readily available in Canada, like Lionsgate titles and the like.

Paramount and Universal's covers, while bilingual, are much more tolerable with the French title being smaller and usually placed out of the way.

I would be fine buying bilingual Disney releases if they looked like this.

I wonder if they're doing the same thing with the DMC exclusives. It would seem not but I want to know for certain before I sign up for the DMC.

What I wonder is for all of the Canadian Provinces except for Quebec, Disney used "English Only" covers for Blu-Ray & DVD releases for many years. How were they able to do that for so long and then all of a sudden stop and start to only use English/French covers? It doesn't make sense.

For years, they offered separate English and french releases...or maybe separate English and bilingual releases...but that's stopped now, probably to save money on printing costs.

I'm sure you could make a couple bucks picking up extras and selling them here!

I officially stopped buying the Canadian releases with the exception of the ones that use character names as titles.

But I'm wondering who here still buys them for the sake of their collection?

Do you think Disney is taking a loss since some of their new titles have dropped under the $20 range on Amazon.

They are probably focused on Disney+ now. I don't hear people talking about DVD and Blu-ray sales in the earnings reports.
