Wait, they'll be dialing back to the past and using Native Americans and a BS feminist angle to try and sell a new Predator movie?

You'd think these numbskulls would learn by now that suspense and genuine fear factor is what made the original tick for the time. Then how just going OTT ruined the last one by trying to be too damn much with an attempt to try and focus on way too many angles.

Unfortunately.
Right if he is not going to put buts in seats or eyes on the screen, then his salary can be used elsewhere.

Why did Spielberg drop out ? Hasn’t it been a while since he had a major box office hit ? I mean one that was a big financial hit ?

His very last film, READY PLAYER ONE, was a massive hit.

“Massive” hit is a bit of an overstatement, at least in terms of modern expectations.

I agree but now there will be a long drawn out back and forth about what constitutes a massive hit lol.

In fact Ready Player One was a bomb in the USA, only making $137.6 million in the USA on a budget of $175 million. It was the international box office that help the movie get slightly over 3 times its budget back.

I know, I tried biting my tongue on that one, but for a film of the scale and budget you are looking at least $800 mill upwards before calling it a massive hit.

If it’s any consolation to that member, I think the film did well, it’s certainly not a flop worldwide and probably went on to do well at home. But it wasn’t the break out sensation that was likely hoped.

Yeah but the film needed that. Elite soliders such as Dutch's team couldnt be made up of soyboys and other iPhone-wielding dorks. Besides, that has nothing to do with anything about this proposed movie.

God forbid there is some masculinity in a movie anyways. So what? Is that bothersome? Does it have to pass the Lifetime Network litmus test or something? IIRC, the movie 300 got flak too for daring to have some alpha males in it. Geesh.

You seem to be having an issue from the other side. Your stance seems to always be one side is okay the other side is wrong.

Oh dear God.

Not that I had any hope for this - there's one good Predator movie and it came out 34 years ago - but lordy, they just seem to be taking the absolute Michael these days.
Is there so much as one iota of talent left in Hollyweird?

I never cared much for Predator 2. The first has always been my favorite, but I did enjoy Predators for what it was, even flawed.

There's far too many attempts in Hollywood at "recapturing lightning in a bottle". Run a franchise into the ground then reboot it seems to be the way of things for some franchises. Some are on deaths door and haven't quite gotten to the rebooting yet. It's trial and error because those who make the movies seem to be far too disconnected from the real world to know what movies people actually want or would like to see.

I'll stand corrected and shocked if this entry isn't the last nail in the coffin.
