Not exactly this moment but every night I drink:
Daily: Earl Grey tea, loose leaf Daily: Pellegrino w/ lemon/lime juice Alternating Days: Wine (1 oz), Italian red or Chilean white Weekend mornings: Lavazza Gran Aroma coffee Man, I sound like a pretentious git! Last edited by GRD43L; 04-13-2021 at 04:29 PM. |

Had enough Italian red (Valpolicella Ripasso); using leftover for braising beef ribs, yum!!!
Changed over to a French red (Les Dauphins Cote du Rhone 2018) last night. Also ready to switch white wine as well; can't remember what it is though... |

Had a great red Italian wine, Amarone della Valpolicella while watching Lars Von Trier's The House That Jack Built. Amarone (made from grapes air dried for ~100 days called Appassimento) tasted a lot like ice wine without the sugar. Makes sense since ice wine is made from vine dried grapes + harvested ~-10°C. Chocolatey & plummy with a touch of sweetness. So far, this is my favourite red wine.
Also made a quart of Cola syrup from scratch with oranges, lemon, lime, spices, sugar, etc. Surprisingly close to the real thing and I can control the amount of sugar! Last edited by GRD43L; 04-27-2021 at 04:22 PM. |

Yerba mate is a type of tea made from leaves of a holly tree found in the South American rainforest. This tea can boost energy, protect against infections, lower blood sugar, and lower the risk of heart disease.
Yerba mate is often described as a beverage with the energy kick of coffee, the smooth flavor of traditional tea, the healing components of herbal tea and the feel-good factor of chocolate. In fact, the yerba mate plant contains caffeine, theophylline and theobromine, the stimulants also found in coffee, tea and chocolate. ![]() Last edited by hagios; 04-26-2021 at 06:42 PM. |

prior to going over to a friends house, I had a vodka soda,
then there: two beers margarita came back home, watched a three hour movie; thirsty as all heck now, finished some Trader Joe's Pink Lemonade, the last of the bottle of sparkling Lemon water and the rest of a poland springs water, I feel dehydrated |

Been having Amarone for couple of wks now it's close to being finished; I only drink about an ounce per serving.
Next in line is 2010 red Bordeaux (really inexpensive one) and a 2018 white Borgogne (also inexpensive). Curious how these wines from the most famous French wine regions will taste and if I'll even be able to tell the difference. If I can, great! If I cant' I'll save $$$ = also great! |

2010 Bordeaux flavour is not as aggressive, very tannic ![]() Also got 2015 Sauternes yesterday. It's a sweet desert wine also from Bordeaux region made using 'noble rot' white grapes. Almost no aroma out of the fridge but it certainly improved over time. Sauternes is supposed to be less sweet than ice wine but it was still very sweet. Very high in fruit flavour. ![]() |
