I have no doubt that Sony will release the individual films down the line, when they have a gap in their "new movie" release schedule or when it makes sense to do so, in conjunction with new TV or player releases. They played the same strategy with Blu-Ray and it worked, though the market and dynamics were different back then, so who can really say what might happen in today's world.

Hopefully Panic Room will be released on UHD (let alone Blu-ray) in the future now that The Social Network is going to be included in this collection, especially since it's also a Sony title.

I grabbed it at $89, but that was after it had "sold out" five or six times on Amazon.

I bought Stripes on bluray yesterday. Time to list it on eBay.

The “list price” everyone had at launch was $112.99. But it was included in a Target B2G1 at pre-order, so you could have gotten it for an effective $80 or so if you played your cards right.

Although I'm not 10% on board with the lineup, Stripes and Taxi Driver are enough to grab me. And I can appreciate that a set like this needs to be eclectic enough to appeal to a fairly wide variety of types of films fans.

These Columbia Classics Collections sure are classy.

Nice groups of films. Anatomy of a Murder and Stripes were not on the radar as far as I know. It is a nice surprise to see them included. Day one for me.

There are some moments where it's painfully clear that they dubbed over or silenced a few f bombs ("gut the FRIGGIN nerd"), so an unrated audio track is more than welcome.

Panic Room not even getting a blu ray release is just flat out comical and sad at this point…..

Well Sony can't please everyone so a bit of hemming and hawing is natural. I'll say the first set had more bonafides but these titles don't appear to be chopped liver. I'm IN on the strength of Taxi Driver alone but the other titles may surprise me. When you consider all the work they put in to make this product and its reasonable price I think it's a no brainer.

Don't forget the top review for volume one either

Got to wonder if Fincher hates this movie like Alien3 or something.
But even that got a Blu-ray release.

Anatomy Of A Murder was on Sony's 2020 4K poll. Stripes was on Sony's 2019 4K poll.

Two movies in the set I kinda want.. they don’t even equal Lawrence of Arabia. This will only encourage bootlegging. The sets are no good I tell ya.

Proud owner of Volume 1. Future proud owner of Volume 2.

I love these sets, even if I don't love every film. I certainly respect them all, though. More importantly, I think it says something about Sony that they take the time and spend the money to make a premium release like this. Other studios should take note.

Was hoping The Guns of Navarone would make the cut.

Wasn't a 4k release confirmed for sometime this year?

The 6 discs in vol.1 still don't seem to mesh well. While the same may be true for Vol.2, it feels like a more well-rounded package this time. Stuff I may not like, my family/friends may appreciate. A couple discs include Dolby Vision, you get 3 versions of Stripes, 2 of Social, and a unique collector's item in the 20 shorts. For the right price, it's a handsome set.

I'm definitely glad I picked up the first set, and it looks like I'll be getting this set for Stripes and Taxi Driver alone...
