![]() I had 2 copies on VHS and you are correct. The one I'm holding in this picture has the director's cut. The other copy I own, the widescreen one, does not. I never did bother to play them since I got them from a thrift shop (I purchased for collector's purposes) and God damn I forgot how slow VCR's rewind tapes lmao. Both VHS's just had to be right where the movie ended. |

Side note: did anyone notice audio mistakes during the opening, specifically when Ghostface says "Mrs. Voorhees was the original killer" and the score when Casey's mom first discovers her body? Last edited by storythecorgi; 06-21-2021 at 02:48 AM. |

I can't believe they left in the Anthony Anderson moment. Also another moment with that deputy that was just eye-rolling. They're really the only moments that extremely bothered me in the movie, plus the diffuse glow look of the cinematography.

There also the Korean DVD that's mostly uncut, IIRC the shot of Casey hanging from the tree is still sped up but everything else is uncut.

"Scream 2" uses Zimmer/Broken Arrow for Dewey because the producers wanted to have the temp music, i.e. play it safe. I don't think it's bad, but I found it odd, hearing "Broken Arrow" at the cinema with "Scream 2" again at any rate.

I'm not against them including the R-rated version as such, but the Unrated version has been commercially available since 1997, so it's not something newly cobbled together for marketing purposes. It's Craven's director's cut and if ONLY one version is preserved it should be that one.

I thought they did it as a joke (i.e. to give the uncool Dewey a cool theme). I really don't think they were trying to fool anyone.

At least this was SOMEONE ELSE stealing another composer's work, not the same fookin composer putting the CD in and pressing shuffle
I gotta say, that piece of music resonates far more with me w/ref to Scream than anything in Broken Arrow. |
