I'm still on the fence whether to keep mine or not. I still really love the Shout! artwork. I'm just a space freak, too, and with all the features basically being ported over, that edition will just be a space taker. I don't know.

You may have to consolidate. Space was (is) an issue for me too so I decided to get rid of some of my multiple editions of the same titles. The key thing for me was keeping just 1 copy but swapping discs regardless of format. For instance, if I kept an old DVD edition because of the packaging but I had since upgraded to Blu-ray or UHD, I'd keep the BD/UHD in the DVD packaging. This will be an issue for the more hardcore OCDers out there but it's not for me

There are very few films I own multiple editions of, especially if I've upgraded the title to 4K. I can only think of a handful. I kept my Arrow CE of The Thing in addition to getting the UK 4K LE because of all the extras and tat. I've held onto my DVD of Vertigo for like 15 years as they never carried the RAH commentary over to any blu-ray or 4K releases. I also kept the Divimax DVD of Halloween 4 as again, they never carried over the Alan B. McElroy commentary to the blu-rays or 4K. I have multiple copies of the Halloween films as I'm holding onto my SF box set (a set that will probably never leave my collection tbh). Oh and I kept my SF blu of The Howling for the extras after upgrading to the 4K, and my 5-disc blu-ray of Blade Runner as it was the very first blu-ray I ever bought, in addition to owning the 4K. Other than that, I hate having multiple editions of the same film in my collection. Gotta save space lol.

I may sell off my copy of the Scream Factory release, but I'd keep the slipcover, and put that over the Kino disc. I have no problem owning multiple versions of a movie I love, but only if each version has a unique set of extras, and the Kino 4K of Body Snatchers has all of the SF extras aside from that TV episode I would not care to sit through a second time.

Lately I have just been tempted to throw a disc in with another edition. If I am choosing between keeping and selling, isnt keeping part and having a disc only more than nothing at all?

I'm surprised yourself and others like the SF slipcover that much. I personally like the Kino art way better without the floating heads. But of course all art is subjective...

Kino's art is the original poster art, which is one of my favorites from the era. Shout has it on their flipside insert.

Shout's commissioned art is one of their most hideous. The Halloween covers are better than that.

Yeah I’ve always thought the SF custom art was absolutely ghastly.

Kino wins hands down. OG artwork all day every day.

Proof that even when original art is used people will complain!

Facebook moms like their Live Laugh Love font on everything with teal and silver rectangles and you cannot separate them from it.

This is also the case for folks who want questionable digital paintings of floating heads in monochrome complimentary gradients slapped on everything.

They seem to use similar "formats" for a lot of movies, so the art style does get stale.

What's the reverse art for the Kino? Some kind of international poster or what? That's the art I'm feeling.

It was one of the alternate US one-sheets. I believe there were 3.

Yeah, Shout really drove that "Star Wars"-style commissioned art into the ground real quick (Body Snatchers, The Thing, Streets of Fire, Sleepwalkers, Creepshow, Buckaroo Banzai just to name a few).

"Whereas the DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 soundtracks on both the Arrow Video and Scream Factory Blu-rays were surprisingly enjoyable, the upmix offering on this Kino Lorber release is rather disappointing and not nearly as good as its DTS-HD MA 2.0 Stereo counterpart, which is ultimately the preferred means of watching the sci-fi horror classic. The 5.1 option feels thinner and rather limited in the upper ranges, creating a pretty uniform and unvarying soundstage that comes across too bright during the loudest moments. Much of the background activity and many of the sound effects feel forced and artificial in the surrounds, made all the worse by also being distractingly louder than the rest of the design, making them easily localized within the room. Like the sound effects, the low-end is also louder than it should, creating an unnatural booming, hollow bass sound that often feels out of place in certain spots. "

Even the old MGM DVD had a very good 5.1 soundtrack option, and I love my Arrow BD's 5.1 as well, so this doesn't sound too good.

The original 2.0 audio appears to be presented properly as it should be, which actually sounds fantastic for the release and makes it a must buy.

Yeah, if the 4K comes with that, I could give two shits about the 5.1 remix.

Doubly so when the 2.0 is a surround track and the whole thing is gonna unfold on your system anyway.
(not that Invasion is a surround track but it's worth noting)
