Don't like. Way too spoilerish and plump (didn't find a proper English word) and hence the exact opposite of creative in my book. Also not a fan of these plastic slips anyway. Totally meh.

If this is real, I hope the regular fares better. If all fails, I'd also have no issue putting the discs into the 'matchbox' can here.

EDIT: The longer I look at it, the more I dislike it. I wouldn't even want this theme without the effect and the head looks awful as well IMO. And he actually looks kinda happy to me. No, just no.

The iconography of RD is the suits, the title sequence catwalk, Mr Orange on the floor and the stand off at the end.

The torture scene is an infamous moment. But next to the things I already mentioned, I wouldn't call it iconic apart from Mr Blond's dancing bit. So yeah I find the artwork odd too (Never liked earlier attempts with the zippos, gas can and razor etc) . I suppose new releases need to find a niche though.

And yeah. Spoilers. It's like the cover for the French Connection having artwork depicting the heroin being found in the dismantled Lincoln.

The irony is that the can actually has what I consider good art for this scene on the spine.

But this here really represents everything I loathe about cover art these days: Major spoilers (there will always be people who never saw the movie) and IMO (subjective of course) just bad art. The only good art with this one is the old art that's a small part of the new bad art.

This cover is also the exact opposite of what this scene did so masterfully.

But I promise I'm done now. If people like it, good for them, here's hoping for the regular.

I would've used a spoiler tag as well. But the order and 'Spoilers' at least make it pretty obvious that one should stop reading.

Be cool if they released them in different covers for Mr.White, Mr.Pink etc,...like the original U.S DVD. Probably sell more copies too as collectors snap them all up. Also really dislike the ear artwork.

You said the word “spoilers” which, contextually at that point in your post, was a complaint about the RD cover art. There was no way to know that you would then, simultaneous to your spoiler criticism, provide one for an entirely different movie. I’m not fussed about it—I’ve seen TFC a dozen times—but let’s not be disingenuous here.

I try to avoid steelbooks so I wouldn't go for that anyway but yeah I kinda agree, it is not to my taste for this specific film but I do like that it is atleast a very creative idea.

Yes, I agree, a spoiler would've been and would still be nice. But what, if not a French Connection spoiler, did you expect following "And yeah. Spoilers. It's like the cover for the French Connection having artwork depicting...".

One might still accidently read it and/or lack the mental ability to stop reading, I'll give you that, but I've really seen way worse here and I complain about spoilers a lot.

I literally forewarned people that they were going to read about a hypothetical comparable spoilery artwork concept ("that's like) and told them what film it would spoil to enable them to not let it be spoiled for them by stopping reading.

Oh, and before anyone else mentions it, I noticed earlier today that the first tat you see when unboxing said can set, is rather spoilerish as well. But still not that bad and not the effin front cover.
