Shinco, Shinco, Shinco!

Just think the real delusional zealots are calling the Chinese players the Calvary and will save the day! Sounds to me more like Custer at Little Bighorn

They are priced so well (CDN$22 for catalog at Best Buy) that they don't stay in stock long.

On Amazon.ca I pre-ordered the new Stargate and Total Recall for CDN$20.99each and free shipping!

Paramount catalog is incredible too (CDN$29 list with a $23.99 common retail at BB). I was able to buy the Mission Impossible box set for CDN$69 at Best Buy.

These would appeal to people that just bought a cheap 42" EDTV plasma, and would complain they see no difference between HD DVD and DVD.

Price cutting for new tech is the admission of failure in the A/V world.

Take out the bullet title, and the rankings drop like a stone.

Amazon better decide soon what business they are in. Selling discs, or propping up HD DVD.

Gary
Well recently A9.com (Amazon's search engine) made a deal with MS (search.live.com) to use their search formulas and algorithms instead of Google.

Lots of money was paid to Amazon for this deal as it gives them the right to advertise on A9.com, which is bigger than search.live.com and looking to break the Google/Yahoo domination. What was the rest of the deal I wonder .

I see it as "In-stock" at 7:00pm and up to 346. Are they messing with us? You know, putting out of stock to stop the flow for a while. I just haven't seen items out of stock and in-stock a couple times in two days.

agreed. Something weird is going on. I ordered my first 3 BD discs this weekend. 2 were "out of stock", saying 1 to 2 weeks, then they all shipped yesterday... weird.

Amazon really sucks with Blu-Ray. The discount isn't even worth it anymore for me. I cancelled all my orders and I've been buying them at Best Buy. I just couldn't take it anymore with all of the delayed shipments, etc.

Everytime BD makes a big move, the key titles get set to out-of-stock status.

Now we have one piece of evidence that they aren't actually out of stock. Interesting.

Its too funny that the BD version of superman is thrashing the hd-dvd in sales everywhere. Once they release batman on BD, it will be even worse.

Blu-ray has been outselling HD-DVD in

Amazon.com
DVDEmpire.com
Buy.com

plus all the brick & mortar stores where BD has far stronger presence and advertising

I think I did the rankings for all DVD's then sorted according to "Bestselling".

I went out there just now and the rankings are completely different. Superman Returns is at #3. The Godfather box set is at #2. Firefly is at #1.

They could possibly have given me a cookie and tracked which movies I seemed to be interested in getting. It was nice to see and couldn't resist posting here. That 1200 pecent increase number for Superman Returns seemed a bit high.

Oop, now it is saying this for Superman Returns:
This Item is Shakin'
Today's Rank: 9
Yesterday's Rank: 65
Up 622%

DVDEmpire is reporting Blu-rays are selling 37% more than HD DVDs, up from selling 25% more last week, and 22% more overall in the month of December.

current sales: 58% Blu-ray, 42% HD DVD

Crank out of stock at Amazon.com
