Great minds...err, decorate...alike.

I love these, actually. And my god, they are nearly identical. Freaky.

This is only a suggestion, and perhaps not a very 'sound' one (nyuk nyuk) but have you tried moving your left and right surrounds back to near the corners of your room? This would encompass your "new" recliner in the soundfield as well as get them out of the path where they could be tipped over.

Maybe try it and see how it sounds. The could angle in towards your seating area. They have plenty of oomph to cover that distance.

You know, Aramis, I was meandering that lightly yesterday. It does make them less "selfish" in what they envelop (prime seating is right in the middle where his royal mightiness JJ sits). Might open up my soundstage incredibly, too. The catch is, I wired them with only 4-5 feet of slack (since that recliner wasnt in consideration then), I'd have to re-wire them completely (not to mention have more carpet to cover the wires), and I think I'm out! It is something I'd have to try...makes "sound" sense, though...

Ahhh, this is why I love this thread. Suggestions like that.

Yessur. I don't foresee myself going 7.1 anytime soon due to space issues. If anything, I will route wiring to my room (which is behind the main wall of my HT) and set-up a stereo music system in there from the Marantz. But that's a LONG time from now. JJ has enough for only food, gas, and bills right now.

Auralex make GREAT acoustical products - I was going to spring for some of their 2x2s at a local guitar store until I got these at a good price from my friend. I'd definitely jump on them - but where would you put them??

I know - but I HATE their aesthetics. To me, this:

looks better than this:

And I just don't like any of the Dolby Digital logos,

And the THX is a classic!!!

Dude. I love the Ship pictures! If you get rid of them, look me up, I'd love those.

Seems wise - I take it no woman lives in that place with you or she'd never approve that placing! What's the room to the left of the living room?

No the ship pictures are staying, I was just saying that because I just swapped the pictures that were originally behind the couch to the ones that were beside the tv. so the ship pictures are now beside the tv. However if you'd like some of those ship osters I got them off ebay for like $20 and then put them in some frames. And the look sweet

well actually i do have a girl roommate but its my place so she has little say in what i do in the living room. the room to the left is the dining room and kitchen. I've thought about putting a huge curtain across the room so its not like this huge empty gap haha.

You know, the Marantz remote "assimilates" the controls of my Philips DVD player and my Philips TV, just the PS3 it won't because it's bluetooth.

Seriously - I just place the IR transmitter of the other remote in front of the IR receiver on the Marantz remote and it absorbs all its functions. It's really quite freaky.

Skynet = Marantz remote

And, I do have no money left. None.
