wow my shipment came in four business days! This is my first time watching planet earth....oh my gosh....it is absolutely worth every penny! Especially since I got it for $30!!!

Ordered Five-disc Attenboro edition 01/05/09 from Amazon UK for $34.18. WOW! OMG! It came today (01/12/09) via Royal Mail! What a gorgeous looking set!

My copy was ordered Jan 5. It was delivered 1/12 to Long Island, NY (Royal Mail is pretty good!). The total was $34.18 (but I do not know that the Euro to Dollar credit card fee is yet - perhaps $3?). Excellent deal.

I opened it up and I actually like the packaging. It is not as flimsy as I was expecting (based on comments in this thread). The box says 1080i, but isn't it actually 1080p? I have not had a chance to pop a disc into my PS3 yet.

With the foreign transaction fee, mine came to a total of $39.31. I ordered it on Friday (1/9), it shipped on Saturday (1/10), and I found it waiting at my door on Monday (1/12). I used Royal Mail and live in California. Insane. This is the fastest shipment I've ever received out of state.

Ordered mine on 12/31 and they initially gave me an approximate shipping window of 1/20-1/29. It actually ended up shipping out on 1/7 with an ETA of 1/16. Opened up the mailbox today and bam there it was!

I can't believe in the past month, I was able to score both this and BOB for an approximate total of $75 combined!

I already have the US release but was curious about the packaging and the additional disc. The box is very similar to the Heroes Season 1 box set where the discs are on plastic/acrylic holders mounted to a fold out piece. It's not terrible but would've been nice if it was a 5 disc Elite case, like the ones they use for Blade Runner. I have an extra 5 disc case so I'll move it into there and it still fits the US slipcover. The slip case for the UK version is also thinner. US version is actually a board with a printed wrap around it verses the UK version being printed cardboard converted to a slipcase similar to Rambo, Resident Evil and Torchwood slipcases. For $38 shipped, I'm not really complaining

Mine just came in today. Not fond of the case (these big cardboard cases should retire) but cant complain since this did come at a good price

The only BIG difference for me between the 2 editions is the language option. The now 55-dollar package from US has Spanish and French options, while the British one has only English.

That's a real deal - breaker for me.

I ordered this on Sat. from Amazon.UK and it actually was less when I went to check out than what it was listed for. With shipping, cost was $34.98. Also, got an email today that it shipped today. Looks like this will be received weeks before a Tower.com order which was placed 02/28/09 and I don't think its even shipped yet!

Received today--took 6 days (which is way faster than some domestic shipping such as Tower). This was a bargain compared to the US release of this. Will have to seriously consider Amazon Uk for future buys.

Sorry to bring up an old thread but can someone who ordered this set from the UK confirm that the PQ is on par with the BBC version sold in North America. Gonna order it right now so just wanna make sure!
