wow - madagascar 2 dropped to $13.99

Time to put chcanada.com to the test I guess. I already had it pre-ordered at $23.99. Anyone know what will happen? My order hasn't shipped and shouldn't for some time as it also includes a pre-order of Transporter 3

Will my price be reduced automatically?
Can I call/chat with them to get the price reduced?
Am I stuck having to pay $23.99?
Will I have to cancel Madagascar 2 from my open order and place a new order for it? If so, how?

I'm also a little curious to know if I can add things to my order. Anyone know?

Deals are great, but the functionality on the site compared to Amazon is terrible.

i like chcanada. ordered hancock and sawV from there for $13.99 a piece. great deal! plus didnt have to pay the yearly membership $5.99. their deal is as long as your order two titles or more per year for $5.99 and above, you dont pay the membership fee. i am pleased with them and will continue to order. havnt decided what my next order will be, i'm leaning between the 2 X-Men films coming out in April and Quantam of Solice. (end of march)

P.S - bajor27, from what i'd understand, you get the price your quoted when your order is placed. but i've found their customer service reps w/ online chat to be most helpful when i've had a problem with my orders in making me happy and resolving the situation. best of luck w/ that

Default I'm an Answer Factory!

Hey people....it's me, your friendly Columbia House Canada / CHCanada.com staffer. (Yes btw, they are two different clubs, from the same company.) Please excuse my hiatus!! I was on vacation.

Let me just jump in and say: if you buy a Blu-ray at $21.99 (or whatever) and then next week the price of that Blu-ray drops to $13.99, unfortunately you will still be billed the original amount. That's because DVDs/Blu-rays are almost always more expensive the first few months after being released. Then the price drops. And, as some of you have already figured out, we apply a $13.99 sale price to different titles each week. You gotta check back often to see what's on sale.

Basically if you've shopped with us, then you know: CHCanada.com literally offers some of the best-priced DVDs and Blu-rays in the country. That much is true. But having said that, I'm really sorry to hear that some of you have dealt with slow shipping times. Honestly, we're still working out all the kinks in our system regarding how to handle backordered products. (Backordered: meaning more stock is on its way to us from the studio.) There may have been some cases where orders were held in our warehouse temporarily while we waited for the stock to arrive. In those cases, I feel that customers should be notified that the order is held...and that's something we're working on at the moment.

As far as your credit card being charged the day the order is placed, as opposed to the day the order SHIPS, I apologize if this bothers you. Unfortunately, the way our site (and our distribution system) is set up, that's the only way we can process orders at the moment.

Likewise, will we ever have a 'check the status of your order' feature? We'd love to! Again, we're looking into it, given the constraints of our current system. Remember that we just launched CHCanada.com in November, so it's really new. But the one thing you can ALWAYS count on is amazing prices. Sorry if that sounds all 'markety'

As far as French/English cover art is concerned, someone had asked about Kung Fu Panda. In that case, we had sold out of English-only DVDs and thus we sent you an English-French DVD in order to ship out your order in a timely manner...it's the same exact product, only the cover contains French translation. This happens RARELY, because usually the cover art you see online is the one you will receive. Again, we're "workin out the kinks" in the system.

Obviously our goal is to constantly improve our business. I want you to know that I have literally copied ALL your comments and concerns into one file and will be addressing each one with our management.

Please keep your comments and concerns coming!! We've been having meetings about your feedback, and how to address these issues.

I don't mind not getting a price match if it drops the following month. I could even be happy with no price protection after 2 weeks, but with Madagascar 2 for example, it dropped the day it released. There was absolutely no reason for me to pre-order that title, and I will be stopping all further pre-orders on your site unless this is remedied.

Basically, as long as 1 in every 11 titles I'm interested in drops from $23.99 to $13.99 before I order it, I won't be losing any money by paying $24.99 for the other 10. 1/11 seems like pretty good odds for me considering you seem to be doing like 3 or 4 a month.

I absolutely love your site for new releases though otherwise. No one seems to be able to beat you on price.

I gave into temptation and ordered it.

I see that Lolo mentioned that different Blu's go on sale for $13.99 every week. Do these selected movies change price every monday, for example?

More $13.99 Blu's...

- W. (Oliver Stone George Bush movie)
- Nights In Rodanthe

Some blu-ray's Like Saw V and others are no longer this price. They seem to keep rotating the deals quite a bit now.

Well the shipping speed lately has been great for me. I got 2 new releases this week on Thursday (2 days after release) and the last 2 weeks I have gotten my new releases within 1 week of release day.

I just need another free shipping sale and I'll put in some more orders. Even at 50% off it's a great deal if the shipping is free.

Nice find. I think I will just get all my blu's from CH now when they go for $13.99, nothing comes close to those deals. Hopefully Office space will be $13.99 soon.

On the homepage Passchendaele shows as 13.99, but when I add it to my cart it shows as 24.99.

Just spoke to a "live chat" rep on Chcanada.com and she said that my SAW V that was on back-order shipped February 4th. Hopefully I'll see this soon. She also said when they say something has "shipped" they mean it's shipped out of Toronto. I always wondered if "shipped" meant it's coming from a CH warehouse in the U.S. maybe, but no it's coming from Toronto.

They do seem to have lots of out of stocks though, good prices and decent service (live chat is our friend, Roberta is nice) but not the best for those in a hurry, but if you're like me and have reserves of BDs, a great place to save

Yeah off the top of my head I am waiting for

Office Space
Body of Lies
Clerks II
Zack and Miri Make a Porno

Last week they had Passchendaele for $13.99, this week they have W and Nights in Rodanthe. So we will see what is next week. My guess is Body of Lies and Quarantine.

"out-of-stock" is a very common word I keep hearing from the Chcanada.com reps. I asked today and they already told me that "W." is on back-order. Not sure if that means none will get shipped or that they had a small stock and some will ship??? Who knows.

It does not say whether or not the item is in stock on the site. Do you get an email after your order is placed saying that the movie is out of stock?
