Hello
![]() My final choice is between Emit M10 and Excite X14, after reading several opinions and making various comparisons it seems to me that I understood that the Emit with respect to the Excite has a more detailed presentation, while the Excite has a more fluid performance and less articulate, I really don't know what to choose, but my way of listening to music tends towards less analysis and for more relaxed listening with wide details without creating any glare. I would also like advice on the best synergy between one of these amplifiers. Naim Nait 5SI - Rega Elex-R - Musical Fidelity M3si/M2si ![]() |

I think the Excite X14's would be better suited to your preferences. As you stated, you like a more relaxed, fluid or smooth presentation that is not analytical. I've heard both the M10 and X14 and would agree that the Excites are more fluid or musical sounding. The Emit may have been a slight bit more forward or expressive with vocals and certain instruments, but was a bit dry or mechanical sounding to me. I wouldn't call either of those speakers analytical though, just a more musical sound with better flow from the Excites. The Focus center channel I just got is a perfect mix of the best parts of both the Emits and Excites... excellent detail and expressiveness, with beautiful musicality and flow! ![]() I have no real experience with the amps you mentioned so I won't be of much help there. Yeah, I would definitely recommend the Excite line for you. I think most people who have heard both lines will tell you that the Excite's flow better and are overall more musical. I very much enjoy my X14's and can say they sound pretty much exactly how you're describing the sound presentation you want. You could purchase a pair of the X14's and then, if possible, take them with you to a dealers and have a listen to a few amplifiers and see which gives you the performance you're looking for. |

If you are on a good standing with the dealer and they know you well after a while, sometimes they will let you take a piece of equipment home to try in your own listening area and setup. I would try to listen at the dealers and narrow it down to your top two favorite amps, and then see if they will let you take them home to make the final decision ![]() |

Bad news is Excite is discontinued now so if you would go Excite then you'll have to find a demo pair more than likely, I don't know what to say regarding both speakers but the more musical speaker is he Excite in my opinion but I could totally live with any of them. I think i made twm lean towards the Excites but he has done hos homework and listen to both speakers and agreed both speakers sound exactly as described by him. ![]() As for Amp choice, since Dynaudio is not so hard on the amps anyone of them will pair well, I might lean towards the M3si but if I would go for a Naim, I would jump on a used or demo XS2, just warmer and more organic sounding than the 5si. Hey Olivier, really loving the 200C! Yes, I believe the X28 would have been a better choice than the X24 in the end giving a fuller, more punchy low end... but I definitely hear things in the midrange and treble with the 200C that I didn't hear with the X24. So even if I went with the X28 in the beginning, I would have just gotten the low end improvement but not the quality of midrange and treble that I'm getting now with the Focus tweeter. Once I can replenish my audio funds budget, I will be looking for a pair of Focus 110's for the front L/R ![]() BTW, are you certain that the Excites are discontinued?? That leaves a huge gap in price between the Emit and Evoke, no? ![]() |

Now, I know this may be sacrilege, but I wanted to ask if anyone has ever heard of someone upgrading the internal wiring of a Dyn speaker? I had come across two instances online where Dyn Focus owners had opened up their speakers and replaced the stock internal wiring with something a little more robust. One fellow was a sound engineer or speaker builder of some sort I think and he was very impressed with the Dyn driver quality and the crossover quality, but the internal wiring he did not like. He replaced with some kind of Kimber cable and said it made a very noticeable improvement, like a different league of speaker after that. I would think Dyn would use perfectly capable wiring in their speakers, but you never know... anyone hear of this before?? |

![]() Was more just curious to see if anyone else had heard of someone doing that sort of thing before... whether it was a Dynaudio speaker or not. |

Hello guys.
I'm DM 2/7 owner and i like them. But i want something with a bit lower bass. Thinking about upgrading to DM 3/7, Excite X16 or may be Focus 220 II. Any thoughts? |
