I found them all fun but yeah if you just want to get the trophy & get the F out then yeahhh... Enjoyment factor may decrease.

It's not for the icon. It's for the sound it makes when it unlocks.

Of course, I am assuming that I can beat the final bosses. Being overleveled by no means makes the game easy it does however, give you some margin of error in the boss fights, but that margin of error is supposedly zero in the dungeons. Given my pathetic ability to dodge attacks, it's probably better to not try.

Oh well, had a blast in the game.
I'm in the same boat I definitely want to finish the game, not sure which ending I want to go for, but I want to finish it. Don't care about platinums or trophies though they are nice to achieve. So I just may do some chalice dungeons just to do it. Witcher 3 is coming up and Arkham.

Seems like none of the endings are "good" endings for the Hunter. They are all each dark. But they fit in with the way the narrative has been going anyway. It's no Mass Effect 3, for sure as far as endings are concerned (IMO).

unfortunately that's what the vocal gamers want, fillers and grinding to "get their money's worth"

Actually, trophies help me get more for my money out of a lot of games in a fun way. Approach some things in a way I would not have thought, try out different things in a game, and sometimes actually do and find all of the stuff. There is a line of no-fun I won't cross, though. Chalice dungeons are okay for a while. I mixed them in with an NG+ and part of an NG++ game. And you don't have to beat them all for the platinum. I kept at them after the platinum just for the challenge, but at a point, it got boring, and I had to quit.

Oops yeah.

I thought it was a game glitch when I saw my health cut in half. Also that area was almost my breaking point in the game.

I was having a blast with infamous Second Son. The Plat instantly ruined the whole game for me. Made me feel there was no point in the game anymore. That's one reason I do not like trophies/achievements.

I was not talking about trophies, I meant that devs now add unneeded fillers to their games JUST to shut some whiners off and give games "more value". the dungeons to some extent are filler, not a bad filler, though, like the shoehorned multiplayer in some games (Tomb Raider and its ridiculous online grindfest trophies)

I love trophies, and getting a platinum in a game, is my way of saying I love this game, but sometimes it feels that you're required to do a lot of extra "stuff", that don't even feel like part of the game, like in The Last of Us, you have to play 168 online matches, minimum (let's face it, rarely someone would be that good to never lose) for a game known for it's campaign, I find it so annoying

and yes Bloodborne did not overkill with the platinum, they could've asked for playing ALL of the dungeons, doing all the npc side quests, get all of the customs, reach level 500, etc.. but they didn't

It was more in tune with the game. I played a week or so longer finishing up the dungeons I had not done + playing another round in the story to get different NPC results after the plat.

I have 30% complete in Wolfenstein Old Blood, yet I have finished the main story & could care less if that number was higher or lower.

yes, again I'm glad they didn't over do it with the trophies

the dungeons are a filler because they add nothing to the main story, but like I said it's a good filler

Sorry. I thought Merrick was referring to trophies.

But it's really nothing new. Trophies have always been a grind or just a PITA.

Kill ten enemies in a row with a single punch after softening them up with a gunshot, right?

The dungeons could have been a heck of a lot better, if the rewards were actually meaningful. One can argue the satisfaction of beating them should be enough, but you can argue about the satisfaction of unlocking a trophy, too. Tangible rewards (in the electronic sense) are the most satisfying.

The dungeons just had a bit of a filler quality to them. I find them so far to be more tedious than satisfying.

Rather than the chalice dungeons I would have preferred they add another area or expand a few other area. Cainhurst castle had a lot of potential but it ended up being an area that looked big but was rather tiny.

The aren't grindfests, most of them are less than an hour minus defiled dungeon which will test your patience because you only get half health. Need to be VERY precise and take your time in this one.

But the rest are quick and easy.

Great Isz is very easy & takes no time.

It wasn't mentioned in PowerPyx vids description to get to the queen though.

Anyway, only way to get 21.8% x 3 Phy attack on the Holy Blade is to get the Uncanny one in the dungeons. So I'd say there are some rewards + all the better Runes are in there too.

The dungeons in general are more like Souls than Bloodborne, perhaps, where a deliberate approach can be preferred over an assertive style. Traps especially have a way of ruining things, if you are not careful.

Yeah, just sucks that I'm not going to get to see one of the game's bosses (Moon Presence), especially after I made sure to seek out all the side bosses. I guess I should've read some FAQs before I got near the end of the game. I don't think I'm up for a second playthrough. I just started Dragon Age: Inquisition, and I've got the Witcher III on pre-order, so....
