I'm not onboard the "buy the first movie in the franchise on UHD" train. Release all the Saws, and Screams, and whatever, and I'll gladly buy the set. Otherwise, keep 'em.

While I agree, they won't do it if we don't buy this first one. I'll support home video purchases for the sake of getting more of them. We can't change the past that is their decision to do the first film only. We can only influence their next decisions one way or the other.

I choose to influence them to release the others. I'll be purchasing this one, even if it means there is a 1-5 boxset later that I'll be angry about for a brief moment.

I had the same philosophy when they released Alien on UHD, but I caved in the end. Life's too short, boo!

Sorry if this was previously asked but I went back a few pages and didn’t see anything. Can anyone confirm how long the new bonus featurette is?

It's 7min29sec precisely.

Does anyone know when Best Buy begins to ship the 4K disc? Since it's being release this coming Tuesday, I doubt it's be shipped tomorrow (Monday) and delivered in a one-day shipment.

The digital HD looks a bit compressed but it's nice to have some comparaisons.

Scream (1996) New HD Remaster (2021) Vs Blu-ray (2011) - YouTube
I'm sure it does look compressed since a digital download is being squished and sandwiched on Youtube.

All you're supporting is their half-assery.

My "vote" for complete UHD collections of Saw and Scream and the others, was buying the Blu-rays.

We're in a different era now. Everything is pushing toward digital, and physical media is dying. It almost makes me cry at night thinking about it.

At the time when the Blu-rays came out and physical media was a hot-and-happenin' experience, this wouldn't have been a problem. These days, however, we have to help keep this operation afloat as long as it can.

Individual releases any day. Definitely better than boxed collections.

I don't disagree. I'm just saying that I think somebody may be upset if they bought Scream 1, then Scream 1-5 all release as a boxset later and you sit there wondering why you have to double-dip to get the other films.

I'd prefer them to be separate as well.

Amazon have the standard edition available for same day delivery so I’m thinking of cancelling the Zavvi steelbook. I understand if there’s a delay and it’s out of their control but they could at least inform customers of an estimated release date instead of the radio silence.

Don't worry, I buy my quota. But I put my money towards the products I want, not incremental steps toward them. Especially since UHD will in all likelihood be the last physical format. Sometimes double-dips are unavoidable, but I think the rest of the Scream / Saw / Alien movies being released on UHD is practically guaranteed. So I skip the singles.

And I absolutely prefer movie franchises in collections / sets. Both money and shelf space are limited.

Just got this in the post and flicked through some scenes (will be marathoning all 4 for Halloween). Checked it out in HDR10 on my Panasonic OLED which has been professionally calibrated and a Oppo 203.

Blows the Blu Ray to smithereens! Which wouldn’t be hard anyway but definitely looks like the PQ has finally been done justice.
