Found out yesterday that my CC-290v5 is blown. Thankfully the 5 year warranty is covering it. I noticed weird sounds coming from it and passed it off as Directv audio issues. When I watched Ironman 2 I noticed it real bad. I pulled it and took it to my dealer who tested it and the center speaker(silver one) is crackling.

Also I think you got them placed okay. It's not right against the side wall and they're a bit toed-in so the side wall reflections shouldn't affect it as bad as if you were to have them pointed straight out. They also seem to have good space behind - at least the speaker depth.. Play around with it though and see how you like it best. It took me a bit of playing around with spacing and toe in before getting it to sound it's best with both bass and imaging..

And I added your UPA-1's to the gear list on the first post.. x 3
I did notice that the mids and highs wher more unified between the Monitor 9s and the cc390 than the Aperion 6c center and the 6b book.

As for moving the towers, all I can do is move them foward I just dont have the space to spread them out further apart I am getting great imaging with the current speaker location. But there's always room for improvement. Thanks for all the great suggestions and input DLS

PS thank for adding me to the list

When I had the Monitor 9 v6 one of the woofers blew within the first two months, it was replaced no questions asked. Paradigms have a great warranty.

Looking good Hulk! I remember when I got my first big Paradigm center it just blew me away, for movies there's nothing like having a big bad mofo for a center. You'll never want to go back to a small center ever again.

I do still think the 6c is one of the best looking center channels that I've ever seen. I pretty much reached the 6b's and the 6c's limits and they left me wanting more. So far the paradigms have been able to satisfy my hunger for more power. With a little help from the monoblocks of course.
I hope you're still enjoying your 6c
Hey it is your system. As long as you enjoy it, that is all that matters. Yeah, I remember that the cc390 did play louder than the 6C. I think it is b/c it is amazingly easy to drive.

On another note, those monoblocks look great!

100% agree. I would like to find an additional 11v4 to replace my CC-370v4 for my centre, so I would have 11v4's all across the front and 11v5's for rears. Hard to find anyone selling a single though.

For such a big center it is very easy to drive. Sound is incredible. I started off with the Polk RM 7500c then got the Aperion 6c "awesome center by the way" and ended up with the CC-390. Ultimately I feel this is the best center for my setup. I guess size does matter

Thanks ace

Thanks for being so understanding and yes I am enjoying the Paradigms. At least till the upgrade bug kicks in again.

liiiiiiiiiike bipole or dipole surrounds? I had to, I have had the upgrade bug for awhile and my particular strain makes me spread the bug around....

Actually, after my new sub, I think I am good for now... though I thinking about a tube preamp for my turn table...uh-oh

My local dealer still has a pair ADP-390v.5's in stock so I'm working on that for March/April

Hmmm, are you sure these are accurate prices? I thought they'd be cheaper than that.

Pretty sure.. These prices are pretty close to what Canadian prices were last year..

The New Canadian prices can be found here - Gibbysaudiovideo.. $1199 for Monitor 9's.

Remember most prices that people mention they pay are usually marked down by at least 10% from MSRP. I paid around 25% off of MSRP.

I paid $1380 after tax for my Monitor 9v6 and cc390v6 almost two years ago. The prices sure have gone up quite a bit, especially on Paradigm subs. With the last price increase my sub went up $500.

That's one really good thing about buying Paradigm speakers - if you ever plan to upgrade they have good value on the used market. Since I got into HT almost 3 yrs ago the Paradigm Prices have gone up twice. I paid $1575(taxes in also) for v6 Monitor 11's and CC-390 almost 2 years ago.. Almost $1000 cheaper than todays MSRP. If I put taxes in now my savings on the Studio 100's and CC-690 are close to $1700..

If I was to ever upgrade I can almost sell these and make a bit of $$ after owning them for 1-1/2 yrs.

Thanks Dude

Price on the v.6 was over my budget so I found a dealer that had the v.5's. $300 for the CC-390 and $650 for the 9's now I'm in negotiations with him for a pair of ADP-390v.5's

Great sound great speakers worth every penny
