Agreed...and I think that Yellow Submarine has a chance. But Criterion should act quickly, if they want the rights to it on blu, as that CG version (Zemekis) will be coming in the not too distant future and who knows who else might get the rights to it.

In the ideal world, someone would have released Bruno Bozzetto's Allegro Non Troppo on blu to go along with the release of Fantasia. What a missed opportunity.

I have 35 of them, and probably paid $13 for the majority. I'm considering just ordering the rest from the website already. I HOPE they have this sale again but I'm unsure if they will. Crossing fingers ...

BETA that stack is scary! Yeah it makes me nervous, I'm too obsessive over my collection to crush any of them

But did we ever think we'd have so many Criterion choices ever since we waited with anticipation for their original slate of titles.

Got my sealed copy of The Third Man today. Promptly opened it and enjoyed some of my favorite parts. God, I love that movie so much. If I could only have 5 movies for the rest of my life, that has a good shot at being on the list.

Actually, they do own it. That's why it's still unreleased.

Just watched "Dazed and Confused" on Criterion DVD. Man, I have'nt like seen that one in years! SO MANY actors in it went on to mega-stardom! Even though it's DVD, it has great PQ and audio. Plus the packaging is uber cool! Well worth the 14.18 (and then some) I paid for it during the sale! What's the chance of me liking Linklater's "Slacker"?

This is funny, my BBS set just shipped from Criterion, which means IT will be here before my B&N order for 2 titles released a week before. Where is the facepalm smilie on here when you need it.

Wish CC would regain the rights to John Woo's The Killer & Hard Boiled.

You should bagged it from B&N when the had it cheap using the Library link! You could have saved a lot of $ (to put toward another Criterion!)

To quote many movies:

"Bullshit on THAT."

Edit - And I mean the Slipcover thread leaving us in the dust. We need to be better. I'm not calling b.s. on you saying the slipcover thread has more whatever.

Well for one, I am getting my BBS set early (which it just shipped, when B&N wouldn't ship it out until next Tuesday).

2nd, I bought it from Criterion because it was my last purchase to finally get a $50 gift card.

3rd, I am ticked at B&N because I still haven't got an update at the most as to why one title isn't even shipped and the other's tracking # don't work.

You're lucky, I'm too picky to order the box set online because I don't want singed up corners etc. However this seems to be a title Barnes & Noble may stock but three stores I called weren't really sure and it is a pre-pay order only.

Will have to wait it out I think.

$50 gift cards, tell me more... I've never bought from Criterion themselves.

The funny thing is, A SLIPCOVER IS FOR A PIECE OF FURNITURE. What they keep harping on about are called SLIPCASES! There are folk on that thread that buy the blu's just for the darn slipcase, that's insane and total waste of $ IMO. I know when I buy a Critrerion blu or DVD I'm getting 100% notch quality, they are the Rolls Royce of home media!

As far as I'm concerned, the slipcover thread can have their crappy discussions over a piece of paper. At least we only talk about crappy pieces of paper whenever CG complains about the Criterion clamshell cases. ;-)
