Watch this happen...
Clemson or Ohio St. is upset Georgia beats LSU by 1 point on a last second play Alabama wins out Utah loses a game Baylor beats Oklahoma Wisconsin beats Minnesota Georgia, LSU, Alabama all make the playoff, with Clemson or Ohio St. I kind of wish that happened for no other reason than 3 SEC teams would enrage people enough to give momentum to an 8 team playoff. |

A betting website dropped these projected lines for potential playoff matchups this week.
LSU (-3.5) vs. Georgia Ohio St. (pick'em) vs. Clemson Ohio St. (-3.5) vs. LSU Ohio St. (-7) vs. Georgia I would expect the oddsmakers to have them: Ohio St. > LSU > Georgia. The big question mark is Clemson, who I'm thinking people are overlooking because they've played a garbage schedule. Just because their schedule is trash doesn't mean they are. For all the talk of how they're been less than impressive they've only had one really close game this season. Also, last year's Clemson team played zero games against teams that finished in the top-25 all year up until the playoff. They then won their playoff games by 27 and 28 points. Clemson is still the best coached team, with the QB I'd take to win me a playoff game over any other. Trevor Lawrence started off slow, but has crushed it the 2nd half of the season. I still think Lawrence is the best QB prospect since Andrew Luck. Of course, Fields could potentially change my mind. |

Been playing around with the number of NFL HOF QB's or future HOF locks (I quantify as >90% chance, based on career up to now) by college attended.
100% chance: Brady, Brees, Peyton Manning, Eli Manning (overrated, but a lock), Rodgers, Roethlisberger, Russell Wilson 90-95% range: Rivers A little surprised just how spread out they are. Many historically elite programs, like USC, Ohio St., Oklahoma, Nebraska, and more recently great/really good programs, like Florida, FSU, Auburn have zero. In many cases the QB's who went on to become NFL greats were nowhere close to their best QB's to play for their colleges - Brady (Michigan), Steve Young (BYU), Warren Moon (very mediocre/undrafted out of Washington), Montana (Notre Dame), Jim Kelly (Miami, FL), Dan Fouts (Oregon), etc. 3 - Alabama, Purdue 2 - Northwestern, Duke, Oregon, UCLA, Michigan 1 - TCU, Northern Iowa, Colorado College, Columbia, Regis, Texas, LSU, Louisville, Kentucky, Navy, Georgia, Louisiana Tech, Miami (FL), Washington (MO), Stanford, Notre Dame, Pittsburgh, BYU, Washington, Southern Miss, Ole Miss, NC State, California, Miami (OH), Wisconsin, Tennessee |
