But as some of you can attest, when I email the full resolution files in my email, I always request that you not share the files or upload them to other websites. There have been instances in the past where someone has taken my custom covers and uploaded them to various websites claiming to be the original artist. After the countless hours I put into making them, I'm sure you can relate that this is extremely disheartening.

Well, I had my @ss handed to me for asking the files not be shared in the JAWS 2/JAWS 3D/JAWS THE REVENGE thread by JackKnightStarman, post # 2775. Because I don't OWN the images, logos, artwork I'm labeled a pirate among other things. Here's his ridiculous claim:

Anyway, I am proud to be in the company of so many talented and truly gifted artists in this thread who create "pirate" covers!!!

This guy is truely an idiot.

I like seeing process posts like this. Here's what went into the Return of the Fly cover:

I very rarely download covers. When I do, it's typically to consolidate a collection or provide case for discs that come in collectors sets (MCU collections, etc.) Yet, I lurk in this thread and remain subscribed just because I enjoy seeing what you guys do. This particular type of post takes it to another level. I would love to see more of this. Thank you.

Process for this cover:

This one was made up of screenshots and stills from the film. I no longer have all the original images, just the cropped images that made up the cover. The title was taken from an original poster. The background started out as a couple B&W images of a night sky and a dead corn field.

My first go at an animated gif image. See if this works:

Welcome to the new 'Interactive' custom cover threat.

btw, all the resident artists shouldn't have to explain their process. But I commend each of them for standing up to their art and to the time and talent they share with the open public. Keep that creative juice flowing

and in the words of Col. Frank Slade:

To All My Friends,

Thank you all for your kind words of support and encouragement regarding my issue with forum member JackKnightStarman and his crass, derogatory comments regarding my custom covers.

You guys make it all worthwhile!!!

Any chance someone happens to have a nice scan of "The Emperor's New Groove" double feature. I've very nearly finished off my run of Classic Animated Disney & Pixar films but have yet to snag this one. I have well over 3000+ points on Disney movie rewards and would like to snag the DVD release but would immediately want to switch the case to a Blu Ray style case. If someone would be kind enough to send me that scan I'd be down to needing only 4 more releases before I'd have everything currently available (Plus a nice 720p digital HD copy of the Black Cauldron).

Also on a slightly related note... I picked up Return to House on Haunted Hill a month or so back as part of a triple feature... any chance anyone happens to have a nice scan of that as well? I broke up the triple pack into individual releases and that's the only one from the set I have yet to snag a scan for. If anyone is looking to down size I'd be happy to send the cover & slip for the set in exchange for the single cover also.

Here's what I currently have...

As always, thanks for considering.

That is amazing! Thank you for sharing. That is actually surprisingly helpful for an amateur looking to make covers themselves.

I couldn't agree more. It helped me to think about cover creation in a whole new fashion. I'm actually going to take a stab at creating my own "Return to House on Haunted Hill" cover as a result. My goal is to create a reasonable facsimile to the official cover before jumping into complete original creations. I'll post my finished product later, but I think based on the last hour or so that I'm off to a decent start.

Wow! thanks for the breakdown on all the work that goes into one of your awesome customs covers! This type of diagram helps me understand that I have a long way to go in my own custom cover designs. Thank you Nissen and also Ron Zoso for all of your continued hard work!

Ron, I would have quoted your excellent post as well, but I don't know how.

Hello, I am in search of a custom cover for the Dark Knight Trilogy. I have the six disc UK box set which came with the three models.

The box is a large ugly mess and I would like to re home the discs in either three individual double disc cases or one slightly thicker case which can hold all six discs.

If anyone could point me in the direction of three individual movie covers or a trilogy covering one I would really appreciate it.

Does anybody have a custom cover for The Long Good Friday? I recently ordered the Arrow UK version and I don't like steelbooks so anything would be okay.

Another superb cover and gif.

Is it weird though, that I'm most impressed by the little detail on the spine of the flying saucer over the Universal logo...? It's sublime. lol

More Hitchcock covers; The Wrong Man, I Confess, Jamaica Inn, Suspicion and Lifeboat.

I reused Warner Archive's front for Suspicion, as it is such a thing of beauty. (Cover-wise the Archive gets most things right lately.) I still managed to find a fresher version of the artwork than the one they used, so it is subtly different.

As always with the Hitchcocks, the client is allowing these to be shared so PM me for download links.
