Yes it certainly feels like it's ended although I thought more films were announced (not actual titles but by the number originally announced).

Probably. It's been a while since they released one (wasn't their last release the DVD-only boxset of his "Gangster Films"?).

Yes...March 18 of 2013. And they vowed to release all of his films by the end of either 2012 or 2013 (I don't remember which). There aren't that many left...it would be a shame to stop the wheels of progress now.

I emailed the BFI recently about Ozu and they have confirmed that they still intend to release the remaining 6 features they have, though none are scheduled at the moment.

Hopefully they use the same source as Criterion did for these, although we know they didn't for 7S. Will probably get this regardless though, if the price is right

No photos but I saw one at work, it's a digipack, looks pretty suave. Hope the Herzog set is similar, if not better!

Does anyone know what is happening with the Bill Morrison Collection?

I've had it on pre-order for ages, with the date being pushed back quite regularly. Now it looks like it's been cancelled completely as Amazon have sent me an e-mail to say they've cancelled the order, and the listing having very little information

It does also feel like there's not been a BFI release for a while, apart from the two Werner Herzog steelbooks

Robbe-Grillet boxset out tomorrow. Agreed, the BFI releases have been less regular than usual - it used to be roughly one a month, if not two in one month. In a way I'm glad though - they're putting way more effort into the releases, making them even more worthwhile. For example the Herzog restorations (being one of my favourite filmmakers), which I am hugely grateful for, and Eyes Without A Face being pushed back for more extras! So yes, less releases but more quality. Perhaps this is a good sign for the upcoming Kurosawa Samurai Collection - maybe they've been spending time putting it together alongside the Herzog and Franju restorations and it will hopefully be worth the wait. If that set is put back, it will only mean a better end-product.

I'm also glad that they are putting more effort into their releases and there have been a few BFI releases put up for notification on Amazon recently, including some more in the wonderful British Transport Films Collection series

I've ordered the Robbe-Grillet box set from Zavvi as it's the most competitively priced at £38.95. Wondering on whether it would be shipped out before release date (as Sullivan's Travels was by almost a week on Zavvi) I checked it's status yesterday.

It's at 'awaiting stock pick' stage? And still is as of five minutes ago. I'm not in any great rush but I'm curious as to whether people are familiar with this term from Zavvi? Does it basically mean they haven't got it in stock? As they've shipped my 'Hands Over The City' which was ordered at the same time.

The Alain Robbe-Grillet set is much more compact than I expected, surprisingly slim. It's £39.99 in HMV if anyone is interested.

Kurosawa Samurai boxset on Zavvi for £44.99. Good chance to use some codes on with the mystery discount they sent out earlier
