70%+ of the past couple of seasons have been boring imo, and im now at the point where im just watching it to see it through to the end.

In an interview at The Smithsonian during The Walking Dead's prop induction to the museum, Scott Gimple was asked if he knows how the series will end.

He said that he himself has "an endgame in mind," and that he is also leaving "plenty of room for Robert Kirkman" to tell the story (in reference to the comics) so they won't conflict with each other when it comes to an end.

It sounds like the TV show will indeed end before the comics or sometime after and will in fact be a variation in both the comics and the show may have different endings.

Special extended episode of the Season 7 finale will be shown this Sunday before the Season 8 premier.

Why that wasn't included on the bluray to begin with, I don't freaking know.

What a weird, out of left field thing to do. This has never been brought up before and apparently isn't on the Blu-ray. Wonder what's been added and if it's significant to the story.

I thought the commercial mentioned that the extended scene was one not seen on TV before. I assumed that meant it was on the blu-ray.

Lmao...funniest thing I've ever read. Carl can never be killed. Kid is damn near invincible. He's practically the John Connor of the zombie apocalypse. If anything else, it's Rick who'll die before Carl does. Carl will then have to carry on Rick's Legacy as their new leader. This has been strongly alluded to in most recent comics. Lately, Robert Kirkman has been doing an excellent job at building Carl's character development in the comics. I only hope the show lives long enough so that viewers can truly see Carl's potential at being a badass.

Well. Considering how Morgan should have died back in Season 6 during "No Way Out" as his comic book character did around that timeline, I'd say TV Morgan is living on borrowed time and his story may come to an end.

As for Rosita, depending on how quickly Season 8 moves forward in story, I'd say Rosita has about one season and a half left before she gets the axe. But you just never know. Things might get mixed up/changed around on the show to keep it interesting to readers of the comics like myself.

Can't say much for Daryl. There's practically no more story left for him to tell. He's basically a plot device for BOTH Negan and Dwight. However long that'll last, I have no f*cking clue. I would love to see Daryl either vanish overnight, never to return (as Norman has suggested how he'd like to see Daryl go) or have him sacrifice himself to save others.

I'm a reader of the comics and have been following production of this season. Yes, there will be time jump. However, it appears that the show will approach this in the same style as LOST and have them be depicted in flash forwards.
