Inspired by a fan effort to recreate the old AIP version of Destroy All Monsters in Hi-Def, I have made two versions of a retro style Blu-ray cover for the film.

I do really like that. Would be awesome to repurpose that for use with a standard Blu-ray cover.

Wonder if the inside is similar to the one found here. Pretty cool. I don't collect steelbooks, but can see the appeal.

I purchased this title this evening in fact. Didn't care for the front cover at all.



I far prefer the theatrical poster. Quickly worked up the below for use in the digital realm when going to catalog the title with DVD Profiler.



And it still complements the back portion quite nicely I think.

Why didn't you just load the Canadian version into MyMovies...?


It's the exact same release. It just includes a french audio track. Seems like a lot less trouble... lol

I prefer to go with the title profile that matches what I actually purchased insofar as the raw data goes. The cover art I use locally is fair game though. I certainly could have gone with the Canadian cover art instead. In fact, that was my initial thought. At first I worked up the below, the bilingual treatment for the top portion removed.



Ultimately though I decided just for fun to work up my own. Took a second stab at it today and am much happier with the end result. See below.

I found a higher quality image of the theatrical poster to use. Had to lift the title treatment, so that it could be positioned higher up instead. I then removed the existing text (...poor quality) and added my own at the top and bottom. It's not the same font, but close enough. The back portion of the cover and spine are from the scan I did of the original cover art. Not the cleanest scan in the world, but it gets the job done. Didn't take the time to rebuild any of that. I did replace the Blu-ray logo in the bottom left corner though in addition to the white grid lines for the top half. Turned out pretty good I think. I'm happy with it anyway.
