I was done after you went from saying you thought it was a spoiler to saying you thought it wasn't a spoiler. That is where you changed your stance. I figured it was resolved but then you went back and edited posts that I already responded to.

which is exactly how I originally phrased it. I never said I thought it was a spoiler and that was never my point, I could not believe you did not see Gold Ranger's point when he asked for it to be put into spoiler tags.

I have never edited any of my post to change my viewpoint. I just fix mistakes, add more text, consolidate or rephrase to make things clearer. I do not appreciate your suggestion that I have changed my point to win some stupid comment thread debate.

I do not see how I am back tracking. If I am still, and have always, said your post should be in spoiler tags. How has my stance changed? I just agree it's not a major spoiler, and I was not personally upset to see your post.

In your own words (slight changed to include book readers): Have some courtesy for those with hopes of getting into the series.

Wow your two quotes in my last post say it all. You went from saying you think it's a spoiler to saying you don't think it's a spoiler. It's all right there in your own words.

As for using spoiler tags tell that to the person you've been defending. He posted an actual spoiler. I posted a GRRM quote that you don't think is a spoiler. Big difference.

While I understand this I think it can be stupid sometimes. If you are going to be that way then why bother going to sites where some people don't necessary put things in spoiler tags. If people are going to be like that, then you might as well stay locked up in your house and disconnect your internet because people either A. Don't care and will say it anyway, and B. I know it is courteous to use spoiler tags. And I know most of us here do it but you have to remember that if most of these members don't bother to spoiler tag their pictures they aren't going to take the time to spoiler tag a plot point.

Oddly enough I don't care (in person/talking). You can tell me the whole story and I will still watch the movie/read the book. But here I will use them out of respect for you guys.

You don't get it. I did not say I thought it was a spoiler. I said I read the books and unless you are saying 100% of the people who read the book have to agree with me (they don't) then you are mis-using my words. Stop doing that.

His use of a season 1 spoiler in a season 4 thread can be debated but it is not the same as posting about season 5 in a season 4 thread. Big difference? Damn straight!

Edit: Wait, have I been voted to speak for all A Song of Ice and Fire book readers? If so I take it all back and apologize.

In my opinion, if someone gives away a movie or show regardless of how old it is, should be immediate grounds for suspension. It's not that difficult to use. Select what you want to hide, and click the spoiler icon.

There are threads that clearly state (Spoiler Alert) in the subject. Those are ok, but if not labeled as such, I and I'm sure most here would agree that spoiler tags are necessary, and the courteous thing to do.

You can't say "which would be a spoiler for me" and then at the same time say "it isn't a spoiler".

That's clearly a contradiction.
