The pricing keeps changing on that site in a very unexpected (and disappointing) manner.
Ten days ago, I ordered some items that were 20 dollars, thanks to a 20% discount - so before the discount, their price was supposed to be 25 dollars.
Today, they are priced at 15 dollars (what a significant drop in such a little time!) and they are part of the B2G1 offer, so their price is reduced to 10 dollars.
How is that possible? How come recent releases may have such a change in pricing...

Yeah, it's weird. I can't believe The Impossible is on that list.

There are 3 main factors. If it is a new release, the first week sees the price point at a low competitive rate (usually around $20-$25), after that first week the price will return to full retail (usually $30+) and then around 1-3 months after that there is a price drop from the studio that reflects a new retail price. None of that of course includes any retailer discount (such as the JBHIFI 20% off etc)

The Impossible is a great example... it is currently on a distributor price promotion until the 12th of August. After that it will return to normal retail. Chances are the price promotion is a deal JB have brokered in order to get it included in the B2G1F

Price Promotion means that JB pay full cost price for the title and get rebated the difference for every sale. Which is why the price goes up once the sale is finished (as they then have to earn the cost back)

Thanks for your answer.
I didn't know that a price might decrease about 1-3 months after its release. It seems so hasty. Here, in France, it's rather a 4-to-6-month window. (A blu-ray is released at 20-25 euros, then half a year later, it drops to 15-20 euros, and finally it becomes part of such B2G1F offers - hence, it takes one year to see its price half-reduced... not as fast as the titles I bought from JBHifi)
I had never seen prices evolving so fast and I thank you for your explanations. Maybe I should wait instead of rushing to brand new releases or 20% discounts.

Even Amazon are doing it a lot lately. A new release is about $20-$22 but then give it a couple of weeks and a lot of them will go down further to $14.99. I'm sure there are other factors but that's crazy! I'm not complaining though

Certainly did - I'm picking up 3 of the last BRD's on my 'to buy' list (Casino Royale, Terminator, American Beauty).

That'll only leave 3 to get (Avengers, Evil Dead, Looper), so I'll have to find something else to amuse me in the meantime...

Have been waiting for titles like God Bless America, Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, Breaking Dawn Part 2 to price drop, will definitely be picking those up in the B2G1F sale!

Wow JB... they've actually got heaps of great, new titles in this sale. I wonder if another 20% off sale is around the corner. Anyone know how long this BUY1GET1FREE sale will last?

WOW at Dredd 3D being included in that sale. Insane! Need to find that tomorrow, badly. That Blu-ray has been almost fifty freakin' dollars at JB previously.

Yeah, some very good deals there.

And it looks like Sanity have come to the party too and added a whole bunch more movies to their 4 for $50 sale (including Looper, which I happily accepted ).

Does anyone know how long this sale will last and if there's there's going to be a 20% off sale to make it even better?

They are quite good speakers, I've owned mine for over 5 years now and they have served me well. I want to upgrade the speakers in my bedroom, if I wasn't planning on purchasing Paradigm Studio 100's, 20's and CC-690 speakers in 2015 and using my Dalis for my bedroom setup, I would definitely take Dali distribution up on their offer and purchasing some more.

That's what I'm hoping for. The perfect chance to get quite a few titles I want from the selection!
