Great and flawed are not mutually exclusive terms. I am sure it does look great compared to the highly damaged master Code Red started with. Even in general i personally think while a bit digital looking overall its fine but yes flawed. There are major studio releases with far worse PQ

Also note DF had no hand in making the Carrier, it was 100% code reds release, they simply sold it in the DF store.

Note Jesse of DiabolikDVD also said the directors cut looked good and in fact felt it looked better than the theatrical cut, due to the comparatively poor color of the theatrical cut. So DF would not be alone in that opinion.

He said the bills apartment video was just a comedy shoot on a fake set, which bill himself refuted.
DF was likely required to issue that statement, keep in mind DF inadvertently included Kino and Scorpion product in that video.

He says he's not an ametur at this, but then uses the wrong restoration terms in his descriptions.
Actually it wasn't wrong, people just jumped to conclusions that he used general noise reduction. DSR is a subset of DNR tools, so either term can be used to describe its use - the former is more specific than the latter. DFs biggest mistake here was not anticipating that people would start bashing them immediately even with no evidence or understanding of the specifics - sadly a common occurence in these parts.

Not going to address your last point because I dont know enough about it to comment.

Problem with the clips i saw is they were taken with a phone, which after captured optically goes through all the phone camera processing and then the facebook processing on top of it. Makes it tough to conclude anything.

I dont think we will have a good grasp of the PQs fine detail until people start receiving their copies.

That was in reference to the Rothman title that you were selling. Not the new double feature.

I understand Blu Titan's opinion on it and I can respect that but I think it more comes down to how collector's want it to be. And I also can respect that. The Carrier wasn't part of the Dark Force line and in the future Dark Force will NOT use the DNR process on anything if the end result is the less grainy or "waxy" look.
Secondly Fotokem billed us for GOD'S BLOODY ACRE and on the invoice had DNR when it was actually DRS which is sometimes referred to as the former. We did have to do some homework regarding the restoration process but coming from a film making background that involved much more complex post production on movies that sold all over the world we caught on very quickly. Trust me restoration is NOT more complicated than post production on 35mm features of digitally shot ones.
Lastly nobody used Sage or Roger Ebert's death to promote anything.
I don't think you noticed, but the people who collect these niche titles are not "lay people". They are collectors who want high quality product. You may have the same 5 or 6 lay people on your Facebook that keep felating you everytime you post about this forum critiquing you and your discs but that's about it.

Ironic that Ebert would have a horrific demise not too long afterwards. There were many other bad coincidences that emerged from people involved with it as well. The hanging death of one of the Producers, the sudden and mysterious death of Sage, the mysterious death of the coroner on the extras...to name just a few. I would exercise extreme caution when you play with the real forces of darkness. In fact, it's best you are not even on the radar...
Also here is yourself using Sage and Eberts Death to promote your LHOTL rip off film.

Vinegar Syndrome announced three weeks ago that they have finally slated THE WORKING GIRLS, GROUP MARRIAGE, and TERMINAL ISLAND into their release schedule. Their blus will be legit and sourced from the original camera negs, with director Stephanie Rothman on board to help oversee the process.

The Code Red blus are print-sourced...paying ANYTHING for them at this point instead of waiting for the VinSyn blus is not the best use of your money.

DUDE! It’s pretty insane the level of engagement they DONT have. 1K followers and an average of 3 “likes” per post. The same 4 people kissing his feet. Everyone else is just sticking around to witness this hilarious sideshow. I love looking at the amount of label heads I’m friends that follow the page, they have to be sitting there, mouth agape constantly.

OK, who here feels that the Dark Force thread has the potential to unseat the Code Red thread as craziest on the forum? If DeFalco steps up his typo game, he might give Bill a run for his money.

So far this thread is the trashier less sophisticated side of the Code Red thread.

That lame brain David Steigman is the most antagonist resident here and his posts scream mouth breathing neckbeard, again a neckbeard without sophistication.

CineSicko would have Steigman curled fetally in a corner in about 10 seconds.

That movie will never look perfect. It wasn't born perfect but I can tell you it now blows doors on the previous DVD release and just the upgrade to Blu-ray made a significant difference. But if you're a fan of those 70's grind house drive-in movies this one really has that feel written all over it. One of the more lost titles it has some very similar qualities to the much more successful Last House On The Left. Combined with all the other drive-in release special features including the also much improved So Sad About Gloria I'm pretty sure anyone purchasing this one will be quite pleased.

I had just asked if anyone had seen it. Calm yourself. I didn’t ask for a sales pitch, Mr. Jobs.

Hey Demon, I’ll say some nice things about your Blu-Rays if you give me some of those sweet dead-stock “OOP” Code Red Blu-Rays.

Please, only Code Red titles though.

Man, where’s Blu Titan at this morning?

Sadly, if DF chooses to reward Ruined for his support of the label it will only lead to Ruined being permanently banned as his posts will be considered “shilling”. I hope it dosent come to that.

I hope it does, Ruined adds nothing of value to this forum and clearly feels there’s nothing wrong with shilling for DF.
