If you’ve got an 2017 LG OLED E7, set it to technicolor Expert, all DNR off, and pretty much nearly max color out. :/

Really shouldn't have to do that at all. Will see if that's the case when I watch on our B7

I don’t know if it’s LG or the movie itself. It definitely doesn’t play nice here, washed out colors and grey shadow details & drained-by-a-vampire-skintones as stated in previous reviews otherwise.

I’m testing different devices and sources trying to figure out what’s going on, but the grey/drab & washed out vibe hasn’t been a new opinion.

Don’t know if LG OLED displays are the only ones that don’t play nice with this disc, but it shouldn’t matter. For the time being set your color all the way up between 78-100 to watch this movie properly.

Was your color drab or just the lack of detail?

Lack of detail? What are you talking about?

I'll definitely keep that in mind. The plan was to watch on the OLED after dark in the bedroom.

I don't have the blu, so I'm happy with the purchase. Have not seen the 4k yet though.

The PQ was admittedly underwhelming for a 35mm film with a 4K master compared to every other I’ve seen on the format, possibly the worst with a 4k master that I’ve owned since the inception of the physical UHD Ultra-HD physical format. (Yes, IMO it looks less impressive than 16mm Texas Chainsaw, albeit less film grain). Definitely try upping your LG OLED color to at least 79-83 and give it another go soon even if just for testing to see if the color correction changes your mind.

I suspect DNR regardless of what people say. The film grain is definitely less than other 4K masters even if people claim this is grainy (It’s not).

This release is a higher resolution and a poor job, so it sums up practically every darn Halloween release to date. One day people will stand and applaud when they release a version that boldly claims true to the original instead of Cundy/Carpenter approved!

Han Solo fired first, Jabba is animatronic & Sebastian Shaw is Anakin’s ghost.

Do these guys want to be remembered as money grabbers and film changers, or talented young creators that did the impossible and changed the cinema world as we knew it? THEY have to choose.

LET CLASSIC FILMS BE.

It looked great on my LG OLED B7 via an Oppo when I watched it. No color boost needed.

It was super dark on my default settings and the daytime scenes almost looked like it was night time. I basically had to move from custom to standard and crank the color up to 70. I’m using a Sony 900E BTW.

Won't have a chance to watch this until tomorrow but I'm starting to wonder if we have another Goodfellas on our hands here...

I still have no idea what these people are talking about. If anything, daytime scenes almost looked TOO bright on my Samsung! Really feel like something about this disc is exposing set-up/settings problems on certain displays.

I didn't touch the color or brightness settings on my set and the day and night scenes were perfectly fine. YMMV but I think that's more of an end-user error with calibration settings.
