Nice work indeed. Any way to get a copy of your work, if possible ?

Thanks to answer

EDIT: Never mind. I've found it already. Thanks anyway.

I didn't design the artwork but this is a set that I made several years ago using supplies from Aaron Brothers. I forget where the Underworld Steelbook is from but it's not America.

And here is a Dark Knight set I made for an online buddy from Slovakia. He is a huge Nolan fan

Those retro Cap covers are really awesome. If I didn't have Nissen doing the Marvel set for me I would gladly use those.

Ok I have been bored this weekend and with no money to do anything I tried my best to create a cover for the Canadian double feature disc of Rob Zombie's Halloweens to match the other covers in the Halloween box set. I know it's not perfect but at least it matches, I hope

Not bad... Have you tried de-saturating the front images or maybe going full on black and white? I think it help tie the front and back together more cohesively.

For me personally I think that looks much better. The pictures of each films Michael look less like separate screen grabs now and more like an individual artistic direction for the artwork. In other words it ties the two images together nicely and fits with your theme on the back. Nice work!

Thanks for the input. I spent a lot of time trying to find suitable images and it wasn't easy. I agree the black & white really ties it all together

I have a lot of blu rays that I want to replace the cover and of case for, and I figured the cheapest and easiest route at this point would be for me to print my own. So what would be the first steps? is this is something I could easily do at home? can someone point me to a printer and the kind of ink i'd need? any answers about self making and printing covers would be greatly appreciated

I already answered your pm but just in case any one else is reading and curious, my recommendations are...

-Canon MG7720 Printer
-Canon 271 Official Ink Cartridges
-HP Brouchure Paper
-Undercover 10 Printing Software (Free online)
-Xacto Knife, Ruler and Cutting board for cutting covers out.
-The biggest Scans/Custom Cover creations you can find to ensure quality printing.

I'll toss in my two cents:

-Epson Artisan 1430, it's a wireless (haven't tried it wireless) wide format printer. It'll print up to 13x19" posters and also prints directly on printable discs if you need.

-Epson 79 Official Ink Cartridges

-HP Brouchure Paper is what I use also.

-I don't use any cover printing program to print the covers. I actually just print them out of the old Paint program. As long as the cover is the correct size and you adjust "Border" size, you're good.

"-Xacto Knife, Ruler and Cutting board for cutting covers out."

I agree with this. I use a metal ruler and a self healing cutting mat. A cutting board will dull your Xacto down quicker.

-For covers, check a couple of the places in my signture. All have high quailty covers, but if I had to pick one I'd go with Hi-Res covers just for the number of covers alone.

-As for making covers.... Dude that would require novella length posts! If you check the cover sites I've mentioned, there are a number of tutorials in the forums that might help.

Anyone use one of these contraptions to cut your covers?

They can be purchased for a bit over ten dollars and would seem to be easier and faster than using an Xacto knife and ruler.

(The picture is a Fiskars Surecut Titanium Paper Trimmer, but there are others available.)

I bought a regular Guillotine Paper Trimmer when I converted all my DVDs from standard to slim cases and was printing and cutting 30-40 covers at a time. It's been on the shelf beneath my scanner and printer gathering dust ever since. I found it to be a bit of a pain in the a$$.

I originally tried to use a paper cutter that you see in schools/offices to cut my covers but kept having issues where the paper wouldn't cut cleanly and would instead fold the paper a bit first and then cut resulting in a crease and uneven edge. Using one of these... and a steel edged ruler has been far more consistent.
