that's why i keep a couple of those reusable bags in my truck. plus, they hold more than those annoying plastic bags. we use them where i work and i hate them.

Had Jamaican jerk wings for lunch and Mexican for dinner. Starting to second guess those decisions. It's gonna be a bumpy night.🔥

tonight I went grocery shopping again. conveyor belt to cart to trunk to basket to fridge. no bag needed in that equation, right?

it actually sickens me how much plastic I/we go through. there are people who live zero waste lifestyles but until they make all the food and drink I want in bulk and theres some way to tare out the containers and not make the grocery buying experience 3x as long... Im gonna continue buying plastic.. all I ask of manufacturers is to make the packaging recyclable. the amount of cellophane and other crap I throw away is kind of annoying. you know its probably killing some turtles out there or something. i mean hey im not losing sleep over it Im just aware of what im doing and i respect people who can live the zero waste lifestyle

I'm the same. It's human nature to just do what you've been doing, and like a great Bill Burr set teaches us, we are all wasteful. Just because we threw away those rollerblades in the trash ten years ago, doesn't mean they magically disappeared forever. Everything we have ever thrown away went....somewhere, and is somewhere now.

I have this hopeful vision of the future where scientists discover revolutionary ways to fully (and safely) break down plastics to a point where it's no longer an issue. I know they have a form of it which they use to clean the oceans...or a form that they are trying to use to clean the oceans of plastic.

I'll be dead by then, but it's nice to think about seemingly-insurmountable problems of today becoming nothing more than quaint footnotes of history tomorrow.

I'm getting behind in the movies forum and that's not good. I'm always curious to check out new comments for movies I'm interested in. I'm not a movie buff like so many here so I don't normally take part in the discussion but I like to read.

Heard that Eminem performed at the Oscars but didn't see it as I was busy. Wish I had though. Lose Yourself is an incredible song.

It was an excellent performance and the only time I've ever seen so many of the audience singing along and really into it.

Thank goodness for street food vendors. I'm tired of paying $9 for fast food every time I walk into one. Dunkin' Donuts currently has the worst value to food price ratio, closely followed by Micky D's. The minimum wage was raised to $15 per hr. in NYC so I guess the customer has to bear the brunt of those increases. Nah, I'll just grab a coffee and donut from the sidewalk vendor and it'll only cost me $3.

You got me thinking maybe I should buy a hot dog combo (drink included) at Costco today I have been there recently but only for their Very Berry Sundaes. Or maybe I'll just grab a plate and get some pizza!

Actually if you think about it MOST wage increases are stupid. Are you really getting that 3% raise when COL goes up 5%?

You guys are on drugs.
I'll pay more for the convenience of fast food if it means the workers can pay their rent, feed their kids and and whole bunch of other stuff that contributes to society.

Cool.

And as wagers increase, so do all the costs. Workers will get fewer hours and you’ll see increased technology that can do the job.

But what do I know? I once had a minimum wage job... and I gained experience and skills. Because that’s all it is.
